Cost of living comparison - Pakistan vs rest of the world (don't get triggered yet)

I want to do some research, so I thought i'd asked our membership to help me better understand cost of living.

• In the UK the minimum wage is £8.91p per hour. Assuming the typical working day is 8 hours, the minimum wage worker in the UK takes home £71.28 a day.
• My weekly grocery bill (everything needed for eating drinking and cleaning) comes out to about £100 a week (generous estimate).
• A minimum wage worker could earn that amount in about 1.5 days.

So my questions are;

1. What is the minimum wage in your country?
2. How much does an average weeks groceries cost for a normal sized family?
3. How many days would a minimum wage worker have to work to earn that money?

Ghazi bhai, this is way bad from you. Cost of living is not just the food cost.
It includes, food, entertainment, travel, accommodation.

For example; In London to rent a two bedroom flat or house for a family of 4 could be as costly as £350 a week in suburbs central London is way too expensive.

Travelling to London for work is expensive too, a Travel card could cost 10% or more of your earnings, depending on your income. Travelling to suburbs to Central London for work is as expensive as £3000+ a year.

Weekly travel card between zone 1-4 covering most suburb is £53.20 and between 1-6 is £67.70 in 2022.

You and I both know that a man earning minimum wage with a family of 4 to support cannot survive in London.

You need at least £500 to £600 a week, for a family of 4 to live in any comfort.
Considering a 5 days working week, the daily earnings needed is at least £100-£125.
or £ 13 to £15 an hour.

The poverty figures from House of Common's report for 2019/20, are as follows:

• 14.5 million were in relative low income AHC (22%), also at a similar level to the year before.

Around 40% of working-age adults in workless families were in relative poverty before housing costs in 2019/20, compared to 11% in families where at least one adult was in work.

46% of social renters and 33% of private renters were in relative poverty in 2019/20, compared to 15% of people who owned their home outright and 11% of those who have a mortgage.

My friend, poverty is as prevailing in the UK as in Pakistan.
The only difference is that here they can get Social Benefits, like Universal Credit, Housing and Council Tax Benefits, Disability benefits etc. Most of the people on lower earnings or minimum wage, needs these benefits to survive otherwise, situation could be worse.

That wasn't my intention when I started, I was trying to gauge the impact of food inflation.

Maybe a list of items would be better or maybe even a grocery store listing prices online
