Cosmopolitan new Afghan first lady backs French veil ban

This is not going to end well, my gut feeling says

So Talibans are right..

okay let me clarify.....
its not about right or wrong...
large parts of afghanistan are under taliban control, now they will be against the first lady...more people will get into taliban becuz of their anti-government-ness, more attacks will occur etc etc...

that's what he meant by "will not end well"

Before the war and taliban, Afghanistan was a hotbed for foreigners. They allowed women to dress like this etc and their land looked beautiful, most would go to kabul because of education and scenery. We should take afghanistan back to it's former glory.

Its an ideology of the nation that makes or breaks the country!
Beirut was known as Paris of the Middle east - Now compare that shitty place to Paris!

I agree and I'm just like DAMN. I definitely want to see Afghanistan boom, they have a lot of potential to do so, and the have huge middle class population outside their country waiting to come back, they just need that stability in their favor, otherwise sh*t just going to stay the same.

Really, that's shameful coming from a First Lady of a Muslim nation.

No it's not understand what she's trying to say, she's saying no women should have to cover her head fully, however they can wear scarves. It's not shameful at all, what's shameful is the way some Islamic countries are authoritative. In the quaran it say, dress modestly, it doesn't say cover your whole face.

If a woman chooses to cover her face than no one (man or woman) has any right to tell her to remove the veil.

Former glory:
Rich and elite women from other countries wandering about.
Cherrypicked photos of parks and public areas usually accessed by the rich.

Nope. This is the same mentality held by many Pakistanis. Give them a picture of a rich couple in a fancy hotel drinking a bottle of wine, and they'll all get this nostalgia rush.
