Corona and the social boycott of muslims in india

Why can't they be a Brahmin?

No reservations for brahmin. Rich muslims like Shaikh and Syed don't and won't reconvert

Typically, vegetarian Hindus tend to have a problem with Muslims. But vegetarianism is on a rapid decline in India.
Very few Muslims are part of the Jamaat. I wouldn't associate with anyone who's that serious about faith.
But most of the good food I eat is served at Muslim owned places. Besides, if a community is socially and economically backward, you need to help them improve, instead of boycotting them.

Vegetarianism is on the rise. Most of the meat is not as healthy

So poor Muslims who convert to Hinduism can't be brahmins because they (Brahmins) have no reservations? Doesn't make a lot of sense.

They ll have to give up, why ll they want to give up? Anyway becoming brahmin is a personal thing, not a community thing. Can anyone become a Shaikh?

Sure.

You are reading too much into the supposed caste system among Muslims, mostly perpetuated by some myths and some social traditions. Perhaps a discussion for a different day?

Not in India. Have you seen the crowds at KFCs, burger King etc? These joints opened recently and are doing brisk business.
The most common dish ordered in India is Biryani. This has been true for the last 3 years. Amongst the biryanis, chicken biryani has the highest demand.
Your can find the report online.

Sure but I am aware of it's nature too.

Well here you are. :)

A sad day.

Incidentally, I haven't gone through the forum so far, but I would like to say that my brothers have to suffer because of the utter irresponsibility of the Tablighi Jamaat leadership AFTER the Ijtema and the realisation that the congregation had infected a lot of its members. NOBODY can single out this organisation for whatever it did before the lock-down was officially instituted, but afterwards Maulana Muhammad Saad said a number of things that really are deplorable.

My old VC Faizan Mustafa has a web-site, a thoroughly balanced and beautifully insightful place, and I strongly recommend this to all friends, for that matter, even to all with whom I disagree on most matters. His logic and knowledge are irresistible.

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with your writings, but folks around here speak highly of you. Well done!

Thank you very much, but times are depressing. I hope younger people like you keep striving for normalisation, and I am referring to the situation within India. India-Pakistan relations can wait for a later day.

Joe,

Whats the link to your friends website?
Also you Muslim?

Hi Joe, how have you been

Nice to see you here. My health has unfortunately deteriorated, and I come to check posts once in a blue moon. Where are you at this moment?

Faizan Sahib? Just a sec.

I STRONGLY recommend it.

Faizan Sahib is not my friend; I am an admirer, almost a fan. He hired me to work for his university, and I was there for a couple of years. We had major differences about certain things, but none whatever about his legal knowledge. He is a prominent AMU graduate, and has been working as VC on secondment from AMU, where he has a permanent job.

I am not a Muslim, but a Shakta Bengali Hindu.

I am in California USA.

Oh heck!

Stay safe. How's the food and the home supplies? I have a daughter diagonally opposite you, and stay up nights worrying about the three of them.

I am in California USA.

Actually, we are in pretty bad trouble in Telangana too, and maybe I shouldn't be worrying about other places as much as I should worry about home.
