NEW DELHI – While #BanRSS hashtag trending on Twitter, Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi on Sunday came in support of the Hindutva group saying India needed both the extreme left and right views.

“India needs the extreme left and right views in economic spectrum. Similarly, need non-Hindu and Hindu views. Hence, cannot ban RSS. It’s important that people from all walks exist in India to make us truly plural. Disagree with #BanRSS! Equally disagree with many #rss views!,” Singhvi tweeted.

Singhvi, who made earlier disparaging comments about the Muslims, explained the need of the RSS while former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi held RSS responsible for the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi and the lynching incident.

While the RSS considers itself a social cultural organisation, it is said to be political mentor of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is facing a defamation case in Mumbai for linking murder of Gauri Lankesh with the RSS. He has been bashing the RSS on different issues, including communalism and lynchings.

Singhvi faced some flak too over his statement. RTI activist Saket Gokhale criticized Singhvi for equating RSS’s view with Hindus’ views.

But he doesn't bring anything to the table in political terms. Then there is his sex scandal with her junior staff. Humping like rabbits in his chambers and captured on camera

A lot of closet Sanghis in Congress party, unfortunately. Not everyone is lined up that well with Nehru-Gandhi dynasty thought process.

Jyotiraditya Scindia was a bestie of Rahul Gandhi, even had free access to his home. But then he betrayed him to cross over to the BJP side.

Some peoplethink that, maybe, the Congress party will revive if the "Gandhis" quit their powerful positions. That is simply not correct. If the Gandhis quit politics, the Congress party will immediately collapse because the other leaders are not so selfless like them.

Behind the scenes, the Gandhis still enjoy a lot of power in India, despite Modi, his dogs, and other Sanghis. Recently, Sonia Gandhi made an announcement to pay the bus/train fare of migrant workers out of Congress funds. This immediately caused an alarm for Narendra Modi's handlers, and they reciprocated by releasing the illegal funds acquired under PM-JAY scheeme.
