While the Saudi-led coalition and Washington have accused Iran of the Yemeni rebel missile attack targeting King Khalid International Airport near Riyadh, Tehran has strongly denied the claims.

On November 10, a panel appointed by the UN Security Council sent a confidential letter to diplomats, which states that it has seen no proof of Saudi Arabia's claims that Iran was responsible for the recent missile attack by the Yemeni Houthi rebels targeting Riyadh, the US-based investigative website The Intercept reported on Friday.

According to the members of the panel, the tightening of Yemen's blockade by the Saudi-led coalition and the invocation by Saudi Arabia of paragraph 14 of resolution 2216, which allows UN member states to take measures to prevent the transfer of military goods to Houthis, is allegedly an attempt to impede the delivery of humanitarian aid to Yemeni civilians. However, Riyadh insists that the closure of all Yemeni ground, air and sea ports by the Saudi-led coalition forces is temporary and will not interfere with food deliveries to the country.

Saudi Arabia has accused Iran, its key rival in the region, of supplying Yemeni Houthi rebels with short-range ballistic missiles, one of which was intercepted by the Saudi Air Force in midair over northern Riyadh on November 4, in a claim described by Tehran as "contrary to reality."

Top US officials, including US President Donald Trump, have also blamed Iran for the Houthis' attack, with Envoy to the UN Nikky Haley calling for Tehran to be held accountable for a ballistic missile launched by Yemeni rebels targeting Saudi Arabia in July 2017, as it was allegedly an‎ Iranian Qiam.

While Tehran has made no secret of its political support for the Shiite movement, it has repeatedly denied rumors of arming the Yemeni rebels, with Iranian President Rouhani stating that the Houthis' missile launch at Saudi Arabia's capital was a "reaction to aggression," adding that Riyadh's belief in the Islamic Republic being its "enemy" is a "strategic mistake."

Yemen has been engulfed in a violent conflict between the government and Houthi rebels backed by army units loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh since 2015, with a coalition backed by Saudi Arabia launching an aerial operation in the country at the request of President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

Who else can made guided missile. Handful of primitive houthis don't even know about the use of toilet paper and yet they are accused of doing a task, which require education and training.
Iran has only humiliated it self with every fail and bag of lies that follows. Just like they did after burning Saudi and Pakistani embassies.

I find it hard to believe that Houthis can make such long range missiles. It is simply impossible. If not Iran, someone has provided them. They can't make them indigenously.

It's what Saudis claimed is Iranian missile debris:

And these are reality:

As you see unlike Saudis claimed it's obvious the missile that was fired was blue while what Saudis showed was khaki .. who is lying? and why these Iranian capable of making guided missile smuggled missile in exact color of Iranian missiles? I think they just missed a letter attached to the the missile by signature of IRGC commander "My sincere Love to the Riyadh"

Moreover the Iranian missile Qiam that's been claimed as the alleged smuggled missile into the Yemen has no fin while Yemeni army missile has ..

Furthermore Iranian missile Qiam has range of 800 kms while Yemeni missile was fired from 1400 kms away.

On the other hand Saudis claimed Iran smuggled missile parts into Yemen so both missile must be 100% identical which they are not:

Moreover How is it possible to smuggle a missile with 16 m length and more than 6~8 tone into the Yemen while this country is under siege and blockade which even humanitarian aid can not get into this country?

Guards chief rejects Trump 'slander' that Iran behind Saudi missile

DUBAI (Reuters) - The head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards denied on Sunday accusations by Donald Trump that Iran was behind the firing of a ballistic missile at Saudi Arabia from warring Yemen, rejecting it as one of the U.S. president’s “slanders”.

Mohammad Ali Jafari, head of the Revolutionary Guards who are in charge of Iran’s missile programme, said: “Mr Trump has said many baseless things and told many lies and frequently falsely accused Iran and this one of those slanders,” Iran’s state news agency IRNA reported.

“We do not have even the possibility to transfer missiles to Yemen. The missiles belong to them and they have increased their range,” Jafari added.

I find it hard to belive that Houthis can make such long range missiles. It is simply impossible. If not Iran, someone has provided them. They can't make them indigenously.

Houthis aside not even Yemen govt. can make anything close to it.

On the factual side, facts shared with coalition partners shows, Persian letters on rubble.

American generals have even identified the design.

Harrigian declined to offer any specifics on what type of missile U.S. officials believed it was, nor did he show any images of the debris. He also didn’t explain how Iran evaded the blockade by the Saudi-led coalition, which intensified after the missile targeting Riyadh.

If Houthis can make 800-km range missile then Taliban and ISIS should have even longer range missiles. I'm analysing it from purely technical POV. It needs quite an elaborate infrastructure to develop such a missile. I don't know who provided them. But someone has...

We must look into other possibilities as well and may be a third party is taking benefit of these situation. We have to keep our eyes open for all sort of possibilities

Yes brother that is the same question i have in my head

So houthies starve and eat grass like Bhutto to make such technical leaps.

This is a country which has made a name for sending immigrants to Saudi Arabia and oddly enough intermarry as well.

What a strange world we live in.

Yemen has much similar problems to many other countries and I sympathize with them dearly. The greed has led them astray.

Strategically placed connecting Arabia to Africa. The ancient trade is still a prized possession for the regional powers choosing undemocratic behaviour. Tribal conservative society which historically has never had sectarian problems and with ancient history.

Sad turn of events.

Yes, exactly. I'm neither saying it was provided by Iran nor do I deny it since I have no evidence to arrive at this conclusion. However, I cannot believe that Houthis can make such long range missile. Why Hezbollah after so many years of existence and resistance have been using unguided, shaky, flappy rockets with a max range of 40 km or so but the Houthi rebels have made such an advanced missile within a few years of their existence....simply unbelievable....somebody is just lying through their teeth here.

I am staying from the start Iran is in the development phase of making reactive war head some other than Iran has given houthis missiles now who is it, well North Korea and could be that these missile were funded by source from with in Saudia.

You cannot blame Hezbollah for giving houthis missile because if Hezbollah had a 800 km ballistic missile tech Israel would have been barking like hell by now.

And a missile that can beat THAAD well this is no scud. This is a reactive war head.

most probably some one gave houthis technology as USA and Saudis have complete blockade of Yemen sea route and only land borders are Saudia and Oman. So id it is Oman that is smuggling in missiles the question is why. No one is giving them missiles some one gave them technology and machine to build missiles and there will be end less supply to hit Saudia.
