Yup, that looks like the idea. Making a specialized advanced battalion within a formation so you don't have to call the SSG every time!!!

Now that is great, I have always been of view that why do we have to call SSG for everything, can't we just have more specialized infantry, and there it is.....If I am correct thought behind this move was that in 2008-09 operation in Fata they had to depend on SSG alot, even patrols were carried out by them....now this new battalion can take that role?

correct - they are trained for Air Assault, Para-Commando - and other specialized operations.

Had a closer look at the id card today....it looks exactly like smart id card nadra, it doesn't have a outdated magnetic strip but a chip
