This is an unrealistic and unreasonable request by Alice.

I am sure she will reconsider her options once appraised of Pakistan's surviving FATF on merit alone.

There is no reason for Ms. Alice to politicize FATF. It becomes a hallmark for weak negotiation skills this callous attitude.

The US policymakers are in a panic mode. They can’t lose Pak, Afganistan etc. Hence, testing the water with extreme proposals. This is how “negotiation” is done as per the “texts” taught at the “elite” schools in the USA. As for folks in Pak, Turkey or Afganistan it comes out “natural”. Ridiculous proposal. IMHO
One is gray list which could be liffed by the US, but also can be reinstalled by the US within months.
One is the building and investment that takes years of planning and hard work to get some result.
I am sure they will ask for a monitor team.
It's like the fatal mistake Iran made while they trade off their nuke, installed spies on their land to "monitor" the progress only to be betrayed by the US in less then 2 years.

its not really pure stupidity. Its coupled with the intense hubris and habit influencing their attitude.

The US for a long while has been using a carrot and stick formula to bait Pakistan and its turned into a very very sad habit. It's worked with some of the 'weaker' rulers of the past but times have changed...
