Complete new-type nuclear industry system established in China
The year 2010 marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of nuclear industry in China. Over the past 55 years, Chinas nuclear industry stuck to independent innovation, actively promoted peaceful utilization of nuclear energy, set up a complete new-type nuclear industry system only a few countries worldwide own and realized the historical transformation from mainly serving the military into combining the military and civilian purposes and featuring military-civilian integrated development.
The reporter learned from the Press Conference for the 55th Anniversary of the establishment of Nuclear Industry held recently by the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) that China already had the capacity to independently design, build, operate and manage nuclear power stations with capacities of 300,000 kilowatts, 600,000 kilowatts and 1,000,000 kilowatts, developing nuclear power brands through years independent innovations.
With the regard to the construction and installation of nuclear power, China has systematically grasped core technologies for building nuclear reactors with installed capacities of 300, 000 kilowatts, 600, 000 kilowatts, 700, 000 kilowatts, 900, 000 kilowatts and 1, 000, 000 kilowatts, formed a proprietary technology system and intellectual property rights on nuclear power station construction and realized impendent building of nuclear power units with a capacity of 1,000,000 kilowatts including the AP1000, EPR and other G3 nuclear power units.
