UP is just too populated for its own good. Time to divide it in pieces and do a media blitzkrieg on population control, education, hygiene etc. I see a lot of UP wallas in my city, they just keep chewing their pan and spitting where ever like they just don't care. Yesterday I saw a guy spitting in a bus next to his seated seat. Disgusting.

I second the motion to divide U.P.
At least in 4 parts.

I support it. U.P. actually needs good educated politicians..........no party has good leaders in U.P., not even BJP.

Also from my exp Kashmiris are better people than most Biharis IMO. Also the only bad news from Kashmir is terrorism related etc which can be eradicated. But UP a completely different ball game. That place has so many issues. In UP issues got issues.

They would literally eradicate Pakistan ..... a population the size of brazils....problems the size of Himalayas and a collective mindset the size of a peanut.

Yeah agreed, what is wrong with people there I dont know. Even in Delhi i heard many people accuse the migration of people from UP for the rising rapes.

As I have said earlier, U.P. right now needs a good C.M. , who do you think in BJP is really fit for the position ?

Well first of all the mindset of the people there should be changed. I agree they are our people but damn somethings just piss me off. Also I dont mean all people from UP are like cave men.

Before that I want it to be divided. Problem with these large states is that its damn too hard to maintain rule of law. If UP is divided in four, there would be four times the machinery that they have today. If each of these states are given a special status of some kind to help them navigate the initial period I'm sure if not all but most of them four will succeed in upping their stature among the comity of states. That's just my opinion.

What I think when I meet folks from north is that they are very emotional lot and are swayed easily by ideological promises based on caste,religion rather than the stuff that really maters.........

Although I have heard that Nitish Kumar has done some good work in Bihar.

I'm not well versed in South Indian politics. But a few examples :
Kerala a communist den.
Tamil Nadu and their cult leaders.

And saying that South Indian's are not caste sensitive? Good one,eh?

I don't think its anything to do with political party................its rather related to political leaders of the state.
Maharashtra has been ruled by Congress for most part, but the leaders have always been educated people......also there is less tolerance for underdevelopment, local media also plays a huge role.

actually it does mate , every political party has its ideology which is seen in its style of governance.

for parties like CPI(m) , AAP development is never an issue , they promote a subsidy/freebie culture which will ruin our economy spoil our people.

then there are family centric parties like dmk , sp , akalis & congress (though being oldest party) which are here to serve one family's interest .

finally you have nationalistic parties like BJP , which want to develop and build india into a strong force. They have a strong organizational structure.

Its up to people , what they want .

i am frustrated too , people there need to be educated . But i am convinced if there is any one party in india which can save UP then it has to be BJP , after seeing their modal in MP and CTH .

Actually thats the right thing to do , i 100% agree with you

smaller states mean better governance , and at-least scumbag father and son won't have a whole big state to destroy.

I am not saying these states don't have caste issues, southern and western Indian states have it too.............but time and again they have elected good leaders irrespective of caste.
A good example would be Jayalalitha. Even though there used to be (I maybe wrong, correct me if I am) a lot of anti-brahmin wave in TN politics, she got elected just on the basis of merit.

Personally I am against basing our vote on caste and religion, rather we should vote for someone who we think is really capable of delivering.
