I always maintain that had it not been for the war, Colombo would have been the ONLY South Asian city to be on par with Singapore. Back in the 60s and 70s, the city was promising ! But yes, it is promising in opportunities that lie in Sri Lanka.

Yep.. The war dragged the country back 30 years.. But i think even through that tumultuous period Colombo some how managed to keep it's cosmopolitan out look alive, Through the suicide bombings and assassinations and violence

Not to forget the Marxist JVP insurrection as well

Colombans are resolute people overall, Much like New Yorkers or Bombayites
