Collapse Of 250 Ton Goliath Crane At GRSE To Impact India’s Most Advanced Warships Program

Undoubtedly corruption. Other wise the vendor who provided the crane would be held liable for the damages.

I am still curious to know who won the tender to supply these cranes.

We really don't know what happened here. It would be wise to wait for the official investigation.

There are a lot of possible reasons for a crane coming down btw. mishandling or maintenance misconceptions seems to be the most prevalent historically.

Crane itself is not 250 ton but it can handle 250 ton . Why it can't remove from the site ?

Its a pretty new crane, so even if its mishandled or poorly maintained, its suppose to stop working, not fall from the sky.

Such huge equipments are supposed to be idiot proof. For e.g. if there is something blocking its path, its suppose to shut down and not forcibly move forward.

Eventually it will be, Can't be easy though. Its going to be expensive and worse, time consuming that will block the dry dock for months.

Time to privatize all shipyards.

Tatas could try. After initial Nano blunder Mamata seems to have buried the hatchet.

Tata's learnt their lesson. Nobody wants to work in west Bengal. It's a nightmare operating anything there.

A shipyard in WB is the last thing anybody wants to put their money into.

.
This is in Kolkata, not sure anybody would want to buy it. It is after all the land of the communists..

LOL.... you seem pretty sure its was a chinese crane

I’m not sure. But India can always blame China...
