Big fan of Coke Studio and satisfied by this episode. Sasu Mangay was a disappointment and Aaqa could have been better but Aaja Re Moray Saiyan was very joyful and Ali Khan is back with a bang (last saw him in that Saathiya song like a decade ago).

Lets wait and see this season has some serious firepower maybe the next episode will be better

Big fan of Coke Studio and satisfied by this episode. Sasu Mangay was a disappointment and Aaqa could have been better but Aaja Re Moray Saiyan was very joyful and Ali Khan is back with a bang (last saw him in that Saathiya song like a decade ago).

I only expected from Aqaa and Aja Re Moray Saiyaan, you know, given Abida Parveen's and Zeb's brilliance. But was disappointed until the 6:19 mark when Aqaa became something else.

I'll give aqaa another go today. I felt like it was a bit unfair to Sethi to put him next to Abida on such a difficult song. He was clearly struggling on the high pitches at times , which might have been resolved if the tempo of the song had been reduced. The naat originally is very slow of course. In fact in the BTS video he seems to suggest he was not fully prepared either for this match up.

Coke Studio Season 9: Bollywood Singer Shilpa Rao All Set to Make Her Debut

When it comes to delivering music in its pure class, splendor and diversity, there’s no stopping Coke Studio Pakistan. With the promise to deliver perfection, Coke Studio reaches for new heights every season. This year’s Coke Studio season 9 is already creating hype and anticipation all around. To top that off, Bollywood singer, Shipla Rao will make her debut this season.

Shilpa Rao has got quite the resume, with Bollywood hits like Khuda Jaane (Bachna Ae Haseeno), Meherbaan (Bang Bang), Ishq Shawa (Jab Tak Hai Jaan) and many others. And now she’s ready to create something with Coke Studio Pakistan.

Noori will be contributing with their compositions this time. Other than that, it was Noori who roped in the Bollywood singer to come across the border for music.

“I met Noori in Delhi for lunch at a common friends’ gathering,” said Rao. “We hung out, sang songs together and that is when they asked me to come to Pakistan and sing for Coke Studio. I agreed – Ali took it very seriously and actually got me here to record the song. It’s basically musicians bonding with each other. One song can make you friends for life – that is the power of music!” Shilpa revealed.


While praising the concept of Coke Studio Pakistan, she further said, “It (Coke Studio Pakistan) is a place where all the musicians are in an environment where they have their instruments, their space and the freedom to choose anything and convey it to the people in their own style; it’s very powerful.”

This year, Coke Studio will be a mix of brilliance with people such as Noori, Jaffer Zaidi, Shiraz Uppal, Faakhir, Shuja Haider and Shani Arshad, who are prepared to deliver the best season yet, in August this year.

Who is the stupid looking lady singer in this song? She remindes me of the bakras we will soon be buying for Eid. Aesy he sajaya hua hota haa bail bakron ko b mandi mein..
