Mate you can differ all you want, but Military has a set method of surveillance and monitoring that is in place for all ranks that go abroad for UN Missions, Training, courses, command, as instructors even. This is done because Pakistan Military is trained to fight all types of missions with any kind of ally. Training at home or abroad is also a testament to it. Every contingent of troops sent abroad has an Intel section sent along with them. That Intel section is responsible for daily reporting of movement, contacts, calls, conversations etc of all personnel in that contingent. The officers sent individually (with or w/o families) for courses, training, education etc have another form of surveillance conducted on them in that country by Pak Intel wings. This is also true for engineers, scientists, research fellows etc from Pakistan Govts research Departments. No one is safe. What you are suggesting is counter productive and a natural reaction since you and other members here are not aware of many processes which goes in intel depts and military by itself.

As for patriotic duty, If i am replying so many posts, maybe i know a thing or two.

We have officers and cadets who excel abroad, because they are fine gentlemen and have been trained by the best. This section is filled with achievements of our officers and cadets serving abroad.

Signalian is being "professsional".

Under Pakistan Army Act, if a crime of espionage, or like, is committed, in which both military personnel and civilians are involved; then civilians are also tried under the same process.

The Pakistan Army Act. Enough said.

On a lighter side, please enjoy this short clip of "intelligence personnel" attached to UN Mission.

thanks for sharing nostalgia bitter sweet

Couldn't agree more. At least some action is being taken, that is a major change. Definitely salute Gen. Bajwa but still, far more needs to be done. Cannot allow the enemy within.

14 years that it!!!!! this is criminal. military leadership should be lined up and shot for this kind of sentencing. This is high treason.
I am glad you are not a judge one can be punished as per the law crime and evidence.
This is not a movie

Glad you are not in a position to do that, sounds personal to me

Yes, but a civilian is entitled to a right of defense, and a right of appeal all the way to the Supreme Court.
But if he signed his right away and agreed to work under Army Law then.

This BS won't end till there are laws prohibiting Army Officers and their kids from going to NATO / NATO-slave countries whether for vacation, education or anything else.

Instead, we send our best General Officers to the States for War College (or to the UK/Canada.) We need to send them to China, Turkey, Russia and/or Iran --- that will bring useful perspectives.
Well Turkey is NATO too at least for now.
Recall all Defense Attaché better yet close all embassies, the World does not work like that. You have equipment from these countries and 70 years were allies. It happened so now deal with it. True the chances of conversion are more if the interaction is increased yet total control is unavoidable. Change the mindset money is everything, not so easy for all to accept that. Personal weakness and grudges can be exploited too.

When you work for defence you get some privileges and waive some away, nobody is forced to

How this matter is being handled is none of my concern. Your justifications are perfectly adequate for the system as it works in Pakistan, of course. I have no wish to contest them.

The system needs to evolve I understand what you are saying but how can it evolve without having the sound foundation. This is somewhat the beginning and hope it gets there where it should be. Each country has its laws. Once they are followed correctly then only the true flaws come out. Once the flaws are recognised and redemption is needed then the legislation is carried out hoping that the new law is just. This is civic evolution, comes with time and self criticism cannot be forced.

An eye-opener for those, who always blames Pakistan Armed Forces do not have any accountability. Now they will try to find another argument to save 'haram-khors' in Pakistan.
IMO capital punishment for 'haram-khors' to be introduced in Pakistan, across the board. One country one system - even no relaxation under so called justice system or else such relaxation should be extended to all criminals.
