Every Pakistani COAS was among worlds most powerful people, because he was veritable head of state.

. . .
Anyone who commands Pakistan Army is essentially in a leadership role in terms of foriegn policy and actions of the worlds 6th largest standing army, a nuclear power and an increasingly unstable extremist society.
So yes, be it Gen Bajwa or Raheel or Chukandar.. it is a powerful role. What matters is how long can that role be kept as a comfortable stable role rather than one frought with multiple ethnic and sectarian divisions couples with deep rooted vices in the entire society top to bottom, state to citizens.
