What's new

COAS chairs Corps Commanders Conference at GHQ | ISPR | July 2022 .

Whenever there is anything critical going on in the country, these guys call a random meeting. Or is it just a coincidence?
This is something that is called for whenever necessary and there's a schedule too. Whenever the central command feels like there is a chance of security related issues springing up, they call up this meeting as the true control of the army rests with the corps commanders, here they usually inform each other about their respective commands, deployments, contingencies and the chief usually briefs them about overall strategy in case of anything faltering. Another reason is that many times information that is deemed of extreme importance is shared here rather than on anything electronic or sent via communication to avoid any leak. What we see in the news is just a fraction of what's discussed.

Intermediate is just one of the basic requirements to be eligible for commission exams.
2 years training in PMA concludes with degree of graduation.
Then they have professional exams for promotion.
They start pursuing multiple MA/MSc degrees when they reach the ranks of Major.
Mid-career promotion exams are separate.
Some even choose to become PhDs. Rather becoming a PhD is now becoming mainstream in Armed Forces.

Its a Defence.pk a professional Military Defence Forum, after months away from it, due to getting warnings by Mods for mocking Army and PTI Imran Khan faults. I see a complete change here....now I see extreme mocking, abuse, anger by every member at the Military & ISI establishment of Pakistan.

What had been going on Defence.pk? What made all the change?

Post April the anecdotal veil was lifted and let’s just say Pakistanis just saw things clearer.

I humbly suggest the commanders look at the state of nation and how a bunch of bandits hold it captive, something they can stop. Look into your hearts and do the right thing.

Not all might simply because of myopic vision. Not everyone is Lt Gen Tariq and not everyone like him lasts into that rank simply because of non-comforming behavior.

It’s not a problem isolated to Pakistan Army as an organization but in general conformism and “doing things as they were always done” becomes organization culture and impact the exposure and judgement capabilities of its members.

It also becomes an echo chamber issue at times and the aspect of military discipline of not disagreeing with your commander in public gets compounded by typical Pakistani sycophantic tendencies

Wish the tigers of Punjab General Raheel Sharif and the brave heart proud General Faiz Hameed of Chakwal Punjab comes back to rule the Military again.

"confirmity leads to mediocrity." Which just means average. Far from "Men at their best".
