KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah has written a letter to DG Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar over 'exceeding authority' by the paramilitary force in the province, sources said.

According to sources, the copy of the letter has also been dispatched to the federation.

In the letter, CM Qaim Ali Shah has stated that the paramilitary force exercises the powers to counter militancy under Counter Terrorism Act 1973. He added that conducting a raid on the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) and Lines Area Development Project (LADP) offices were not the authority of the Sindh Rangers.

What a joke these two parties - MQM and PPP are.

Law and order is responsibility of the govt. If it fails and military establishment steps in to enforce law, its actually a serious indictment of criminal intent of the politicians.

These two parties have been ineffective at creating a regime to enforce law and order. In a way, its a tall order to ask to enforce law and order from parties which are refuge to target killers, extortionists, land grabbers and money launderers.

First step: Write a letter to Rangers expressing displeasure in overstepping their authority.
Second step: Tell Rangers to go back to their barracks.
Third step: Governor Rule in Karachi.
