It's your right to disagree, friend. I hold the belief that without divine intervention, we would be as civilized as we were 2000 years ago.Sorry I disagree. Our moral values evolved through process closely tied to our Sociocultural evolution. Its just a part of our overall evolutionary process. Our knowledge of right and wrong was acquired by our ancestors and passed down through generations.During these periods it underwent changes according to the progress we made in Science,Technology,Emergence of new ideas and Philosophies .See,We just didn't import our moral values from a divine being. We acquired it over generations.Moral values of a medieval human will be very much different from a man of 21st century.
For example look at KSA. are they as civilized as you and me? They are in the 21st century but the civilization there is still stuck in the 7th century. Look at Somalia, look at every other failed state where the survival of the fittest is their civilization.
They didn't have parents? Sure they did, but those parents taught them values that go against yours and mine.
You are free to believe what you like, of course. I believe in something else.
Atheism is not evil, nor is religion evil. Men are inherently evil. It is our society which shapes us to overcome the evil and be good.
