Joseph Stalin's atheistic regime killed tens of millions of people. Mao's atheistic regime killed tens of millions of people as well. This is just from the last century.
Atheism left them with no reason not to do it and religion gave the evil religious a reason to do it.
Evil is evil, period. However, if all religions were destroyed today, all the holy books burned, then i have no doubt in my mind that this world would burn too.
Stain and Mao did not do so because of any atheism, they would do it period, even if they were religious . That's an old tired meme thrown about them. Their motivation was not about promoting atheism , it was greed for power. Stalin ordered thousands of people executed because he thought they represented a threat to the establishment of communism"
Contrast this with the Inquisition. The atrocities perpetrated were because of a doctrine held by the church, and the thoughts/actions of those deemed to be heretical. Christianity can be blamed in this instance, while in the examples above atheism cannot.
if atheism = I will kill, then surely the daily murders we see today would show that large amount of them or all them where done by atheist. given that world is largely, overwhelmingly religious.... that theory of atheist go about killing people or are susceptible to be killers more..
