These kinds of statements from a hippe clinton are painful at best considering that they are backing force behind our failed democracy and installing the richest but most corrupt man as president.

Sanctions and flight of capital are not to blame.

Pakistan has one of the lowest tax collection to GDP ratios in the world. There are huge imbalances built right into the system, with few direct taxes, and en bloc exemptions (for example agricultural income).

A majority of what tax is collected goes for two major heads: debt servicing and defence, leaving very little for the socal services sector, including crucial areas like health and education.

We have been stealing from our collective future for decades, and the huge bill is only now coming due. The real enormity of what this entails will soon become apparent to all of us.

It is astounding that there have been no land reforms after independence in Pakistan. Along with tax reforms this is the next thing which should be taken up immediately.

Multi-billionare politicians like Zardari and Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif should be the first ones to pay up. They owe Pakistan billions of dollars.


Then the rest of PPP and PML-N should also pay up.


If Zardari and Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif give just 20% of their wealth to Pakistan then Pakistan will come out of the economic crisis ASAP.
