What's new

Cleanliness drive reaches Pakistan

It's about the mentality of the people changing. I've seen people throw shit on the ground even if there is a waste bin right in front of them.

Have patience, it will change definitely!! May be not in our generation, my be not completely in next generation, but effect will take place slowly. Our two countries are not like China or Singapore where you can enforce thing with cane!!

Do you want me to post pics of the ganga?

Nice progress indeed. However i will like to point out that this is nothing new and as said "Inspired from India". there were these cleanness drives some three four years back happening three t four times a year where school children participated in such activities. The whole area around main Boulevard, Kalma Chowk, Center point for example was painted. Different sections of wall were assigned to different schools who painted them. Cleaning the area was part of that. A similar concept have been running in Rawalpindi as well for quite a few years now.
All said, i do not think that if we adopt something good from India that is anything to be ashamed of. It is good that finally Indian and Pakistani have started some work in this direction. The whole region need such activities as we are very populated, most of cities were not properly planned so there are loads of waste that needs to be dealt with.

Now this kind of competition we must indulge in, how about people share their own efforts? Nominate some people or such do it own their on.

Yes part of satya sai seva dal group, but we also do it as a group in normal time.
in winter we distribute free blankets to those sleeping on the road.In summer hold water camps for thirsty travellers and people.
Also conduct workshops to teach rural women and men how to learn small skills like cottage industry and computer certification so they can use it in future.
There are a lot of things though.
