Wonder, if Sikh students can wear turbans as part of their uniform, why can't a muslim girl wear hijab?
It's definitely a case of faith discrimination, whatever excuse they are putting to justify their action.

what alternative case are you talking of ? Schools have uniforms and the reason for that I have amply made clear of in my earlier post. Learn to comprehend first.

That would be both unreasonable & impractical . From what i've seen removing a turban is very painful & putting it back is two fold . Sikhs are just 1% of the population & entirly living in Punjab .the only solution is to cut the hair .

Anyway that's a absurd comparison , Catholic schools are knows to ban any kind of religious fashion .including turbans .

Sir, India is a country where religions are taken seriously.

In the west, religions are not taken seriously.

The catholic schools are imposing western standards on the natives.

Will it break their backs if a few pupils wear scarfs, turbans or whatever as a sign of their devotion to their religion?

In Saudi Arab even Non Muslim women are forced to wear a Burqa. Any one who protests will be dealt accordingly to the law. What will u say on this

Here the school is asking all the students to follow one rule, and this girl and their family is crying discrimination for not being able to impose their family and religious rules on the school. That's the problem with the fundamentalist mindset, why should one join an organization if one is not comfortable with its rules?
