Oh so Altaf Hussain was right when he was warning about Taliban moving to Karachi? Don't you people feel like fools now who labelled him anti pushtun?

If we let go of conspiracy theories and start making our judgments on facts, then it’s quite easy to see that their criminal objectives are forcing them into a power struggle. Our failure to see the picture clearly, and to now use their dispute to our advantage, could be seen as failing to capitalize on an opportunity. An aggressive approach is needed due to the deteriorating security situation in the city. Pakistan has been a key ally in the region for over a decade. It is extremely important to have a safe and secure Pakistan for the sake of restoring peace in the region. At the same time, it is hard to imagine a safe and secure Pakistan without a safe and secure Karachi. We have full confidence in the government’s ability to bring the situation under control. We stand by the government of Pakistan in its effort to negate the threat of violence, and wish to see peace prevail throughout the city.

Many Punjabis are also Talibs, it's nothing to do with ethnicity.

Altaf 'bahi's' strategy of painting everything in ethnic terms is the reason why most sane people in Pakistan that don't think they're Mohajars after a more than half a century do not listen to him. If MQM somehow wakes up and cuts him and centres in Pakistan rather than UK there's hope. The Talibs are ideological enemies, not ethnic ones.

I know, that's what I'm getting at. When Altaf Hussain warned people laughed.

An aggressive approach will need aggressive funding towards the departments handling law and order. If you tell anyone that a city of 20m people is being funded with $6m a year and the amount of crime that is happening, it would be posted as nothing short of a miracle.

P.S - I am not sure about the $ amount and would be open to editing it with the correct number.

so PPP and PMLN are not ethnic parties? why should MQM cut off its mohajir roots?

didn't PMLN get votes despite chanting jaag punjabi jaag slogan?

what about bhutto and his sindhi nationalism

MQM was a reaction to ethnic politics, its true that mohajirs were politically sidelined because of them being not sindhis but mohajirs

Tell that to the mohajirs living near khatti pahaari who keep getting threatened with jihad because of being muhajirs.
