CJOS Rashid Mahmood visits Turkey

. . .
I don't know whether others in this forum have noticed too - almost every month there's one high profile defense visits in either Turkey or Pak. It looks like these are not one shot staffs, there's a pattern in them. Carry it on...

. .
Any defence deals on the table?

I have an observation - whatever defense products Turkey manages to produce ultimately gets into Pak hands. How or in what form? I have no clue. Let me give an example. Long long time ago my friends, all fresh grads, worked on a 155mm gun project. It's not a project to be greatly proud of because it was a copy (by hacking) but considerable modifications were done later. Anyway, for fresh grads not a bad job experience with lots of learning curves to ride. Miraculously it worked, and field tests were done with pomp and grandeur with the President at the observation desk. Even that gun, called Panter, is in Pak inventory with TOT. Now, you can connect the dots...

Some more funny things about that project. The project leader was a major and his only staff was his driver. That guy used to pick my friends at 6 o'clock in the morning. You know how hard it is for college students to rise up early!! Anyway, nobody in the higher up seemed to have cared about that project. But that major, an engineering graduate from a top Turkish university, was a different material. Ultimately, he made it work through unimaginably hard work. Only after then off course the generals showed up...

General Rashad Mahmood, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, who is on official visit to Turkey, called on General Hulusi Akar, Turkish General Staff, in Ankara. During the talks, matters of bilateral interest with emphasis on geo-strategic situation and security challenges came under discussion. Both sides reaffirmed the resolve to further enhance cooperation between the two Armed Forces. CJCSC also called on H.E. Mr. Fikri Isik, Minister of National Defence and General Abidin Unal, Commander Turkish Air Force.

In a graceful Medal Award Ceremony held at TGS HQ, CJCSC was awarded ‘Legion of Merit’ by Turkish General Staff. Earlier, CJCSC laid wreath at Ataturk Mausoleum and was presented the Guard of Honour.

Turkish Altay drone, Altay tank & T129 are some of the options which Pakistan must be looking into.

If It is checked the delegation from Turkish side, I may predict that This visit aims a cooperation. Defense Minister, Turkish Under-secretariat of defense industry and Naval commander in same frame.

Pakistan Army needs a medium range (31 - 99 km) SAM (wheeled) to supplement FM-90 (HQ-7B) SR-SAM. Can Turkey offer one ?

Dear Sir, your posts show that you were a pro before leaving your country as you have explained earlier, may be I am wrong but after your Govt came in hands of Islamists the country is more or less following path of Usmanis which is great. Our Turkish friends also know that Pak after Turkey is only country left with stability in Muslim world.
The Turkish are quite capable people and they have got knowledge from West and even got what required from bitter enemy like Israel. They should help Pak to make it prosper. With that Turkey should work for peace and harmony of Muslim Ummah i.e reconciliation between Iran and KSA to counter Western agenda.

Ongoing SAM projects under the name of "Hisar" is like following bro. A likely collaboration on SAM projects will serve the benefits of both country. They are under development phase yet.

1- Hisar MANPAD VSHORAD 4km altitude, 6km range (2018)
2- Hisar-A Low Altitude IIR 10km altitude, 16+km range, 4m length, 230kg weight
3- Hisar-O Medium Altitude IIR 15km altitude, 25+km range (Ismail Demir stated 40km) 4,5m length, 300kg weight
4- Hisar-ON (Nokta) Long Altitude Medium Range RF, 20km altitude, 50km range
5- Hisar-OD (Naval) Rim-7 Sea Sparrow replacement, RIM-162 equivalent on performance.
6- Hisar-U Long Altitude Long Range, IIR-RF seeker, 20+km Altitude, 150km range
