I see lots of Indians getting upset because they think the Chinese language will kill Hindi language.

oh lay its outlandish.

If you have noticed Hindi in India and Urdu in Pakistan are already distorted due to mixture of English but to say that Chinese can have a similar influence or kill Hindi is unlikely atleast in coming many decades.

Besides more than Hindi , the regional languages in India like Marathi, tamil cunada are more stronger. so who cares if Hindi gets some small jolt

Ok guys let me reiterate my point. Hindi was not able to 'kill' Bengali, Marathi, Gurmukhi, Tamil etc, this guy jumps in say that Mandarin will kill Hindi

Hindi is already history because Indians are so proud to brag about being able to speak English. I have never came across an Indian bragging about the Hindi language.

That's because Hindi is an easy language to pick up...there are a lot of similarities between Hindi and other Indian languages. In Hindi there aren't many verb irregularities, etc. English is a very different language that requires a lot more work to learn, so it is more of an accomplishment. English is the lingua franca of the world; the vast majority of technical, scientific, medical, etc. literature is published i English.

Hindi is far from being dead. It's just that the scenarios it's being used in are changing. However, Hindi is unfortunately becoming closer to a language called "Hinglish." Young people today cannot say a single Hindi sentence without using an English word somewhere.

Anyways, it's a good move to start introducing Chinese education. It will be to our advantage to know cheeni bhaashaa.

i have already learned few chinese words from my chinese friends

zin jiang=bye/c u
