New Delhi: Arrested 26/11 handler Abu Jundal has made some more startling revelations.

According to sources, Jundal told the Special Cell of Delhi Police during interrogation that the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) has brought in an ace Chinese para-glider to northern Pakistan where he has been training militants in paragliding for the past two years.

As per a report in the DNA, the training is being conducted somewhere in the Baltistan area of north Pakistan bordering the Xinjiang Autonomous Region of China.

“A Chinese national has been hired by the LeT to train its cadres in paragliding. The Chinese national is also being assisted by another person who is believed to be a Pakistani-national,” a police officer told the daily on condition of anonymity.
The training began in early 2010 and has been ongoing for the past two years. The LeT had bought around 50 gliders from China and more than a 100 militants have been trained in the past two years, Jundal is believed to have told investigators.

Another vital piece of information provided by Jundal is that the LeT has shifted its operational command headquarters to the Dolai area in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (***). According to him, this was done after there was a crackdown on the LeT and its operations post 26/11. Earlier, the operational headquarters was in Muridke, the officer said.

Abu Hamza silent on ISI role in Mumbai attacks

By Aditi Phadnis

Published: July 3, 2012

NEW DELHI:
The arrest of the mastermind behind the Mumbai attacks, Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Hamza alias Abu Jundal, has sparked tensions between India’s Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) over the question of who coordinates his arrest.
The electrician who went on to become one of the most wanted terrorists in India was arrested at the Indira Gandhi International Airport – according to senior officials, the entire operation to track down Hamza was coordinated by the IB. Officials also say that Hamza arrived on a commercial flight and not on a special flight arranged by RAW.

Meanwhile, the IB has gotten to work on extracting as much information from the terrorist as possible on his role in the Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT) network and the alleged involvement of Pakistani state actors in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, in which 166 people were killed.

Investigators have elaborated that though Hamza has admitted that he had a role in the Mumbai attacks and acknowledged that he was constantly talking to terrorists during the attack, he has not volunteered information about the involvement of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

“We have matched his voice sample from the recorded conversation during the Mumbai attack. Although he is talking about his role in giving Hindi lessons to terrorists and also identifying places in Mumbai, he is not ready to give information about the involvement of ISI in the attack,” said a senior officer. Investigators are also finding it difficult to get information on LeT sleeper cells present in India.

Senior officials elaborated that Ansari was a hardened terrorist whose main job was to identify and indoctrinate recruits.Ansari also told investigators that he was initially given the code name Abu Hamza and it was later changed to Abu Jundal in 2008, because his LeT handlers didn’t want him to be identified during the investigations into the Mumbai attacks.

During the course of interrogation, Hamza also identified the people whose voice was recorded by intelligence agencies during the attack. Hamza told the investigators that around 8-10 people were present in a safe house in Karachi, which acted like a control room during the attack.

The wanted terrorist has also confessed that not all the ‘handlers’ were present at the control room at the same time.
Investigators believe that the terrorist mastermind joined the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) at the behest of a school senior after the 2002 riots in Gujarat. After completing the initial process of indoctrination, Hamza was sent to Kashmir for training in small arms.

Intelligence agencies had first found Hamza to be involved in suspicious activities during the investigation into an attack on the Indian Institute of Science (IISC) in 2005. Even though Hamza managed to avoid getting arrested, his name came up again when Mumbai police recovered weapons from Aurangabad in 2006.

Senior officials said that Ansari has also confessed to helping LeT recruits plant seven bombs in Mumbai in July 2007, which was the first major coordination between LeT and the Indian Mujahideen (IM).
Even though Ansari was wanted by several police organisations, he has managed to enter India twice between 2006 and 2007 through Bangladesh and Nepal.

Ajmal Kasab, also accused in the Mumbai attacks, had identified Hamza’s voice earlier in recorded conversations for investigators. Kasab told the investigators that Hamza was closely involved in the training. Hamza also taught Hindi to the 10 Pakistani nationals involved in the Mumbai attacks. The two Hindi classes took place just days before the attack. Hamza is a resident of Beed, in Maharashtra state.

This is corroborated by the intel report in 2009 that terrorist outfit LeT had acquired 50 paragliders from Europe, which it intends to use to launch terror strikes in India.

Paragliders could be used to launch suicide attacks from a hillock, moving vehicles, high-speed boats or a skyscraper. But what is the likelihood? Let's check it out....

Sure, suicide bombers deftly gliding into a crowded city sounds terrifying, but in reality such an attack would be incredibly difficult to pull off.

First of all, paragliders must take off from a high point, meaning that an attack would either have to be launched from close hills or buildings (with a strategic location and in perfect weather conditions) or the suicide bombers would have to be towed by a car or boat -- which would be fairly difficult in the middle of a city.

Second, paragliders can't just fly in any direction. Your choices of flight direction are typically governed by how the wind is blowing and by nearby obstructions.

Finally, they tend to fly quite slowly (at an average of 20-25kmh for maximum control) and would be further slowed by weighty suicide belts or guns. If a suicide paraglider ever made it close to a crowded area, most people would be able to simply run away and authorities could easily shoot the would-be attacker down.

LeT is a dangerous terrorist organization that should not be underestimated, but unless the group manages to recruit some professional paragliders or Mumbai sprouts some bigger hills, :cheesy: this one should not be given too much weight.

In other words, these guys are wasted their time and resources as such an attack is not only laced with stupidity but well neigh impossible to pull off.

Cheers!

No they were not terrorists... they were apparently fake like their medicines and economic data :cheesy:

Terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Tayiba [ Images ] has acquired 50 paragliders from Europe, which it intends to use to launch terror strikes in India [ Images ], an alert issued by the Intelligence Bureau on Friday has said.

The IB says that there is a growing concern over the Lashkar's ability to launch an attack from the skies. It appears that the terror outfit is trying newer techniques to step on to Indian soil since they are finding it hard to infiltrate through land and sea owing to stepped up vigil.

The details of the purchase are still not available, but it appears that they have managed to acquire the paragliders through a benami transaction.

The IB feels that the Lashkar is desperate, as it has been feeling bogged down since the November 26, 2008, Mumbai [ Images ] attacks. Also, the Lashkar is facing trouble in carrying out recruitments, especially in India.

Earlier in the day, the IB had issued an advisory stating that the same outfit is likely to carry out a hijacking of an Indian commercial aircraft.

The IB says that the country needs to be on guard for an aerial strike since these groups are always innovating.

The Home Ministry, which has been appraised of the matter, says it has asked all security agencies to be on alert and also carry out mock drills to counter such strikes. We don't want to take any chances, a Home Ministry official said.

The Indian Air Force, on its part, claims it is fully prepared to counter such a strike. In fact, former Chief of the Air Force Fali S Major had told rediff.com in an interview, "An aerial attack is not really a threat since the IAF has the capability to tackle this threat with ease. Our readiness to carry out a strike was always high and there is no doubting the capabilities of the Indian Air Force."

If you guys actually believe these stories, then here's another story for you:

"LeT has acquired a time machine from a deserted Russian Bunker in the Ural mountains, the LeT intends to send its members armed with RPGs and Assault Rifles back into time. These people will engage the East India Company trading party at the moment where they signed the trade accord with Aurangzeb. By doing so, they will stop the British encroachment of Mughal territory and in the modern day, the Mughal Empire will be conserved"

Evil fu**ing Geniuses!

They can use small motors which will propel the rotor for take off. No need for high grounds.

But why would they attack you with paragliders?
They are clearly visible.
Low flying.
Dependant on wind.
Quite slow.

Quite a poor choice of attack vehicle for an outfit and an operation that functions entirely on speed and secrecy.
