Chinese Ambassador in Dhaka Li Jun Thursday said his country was contemplating easing the visa procedure for Bangladeshi citizens to enter China.
"We have sent all the documents concerned to China and the authorities there wanted to meet with their Bangladeshi counterparts," he said while speaking at a seminar.
The Entrepreneur Development Forum (EDF) of BRAC University organised the seminar on "Chinese Economy and China-Bangladesh Relationship.
Saying that over 100 investors of his country are now visiting Dhaka, he said Chinese businesses want to invest in Bangladesh's labour-intensive industries like ready-made garments and electronics.
"Bilateral trade between the two friendly countries is heavily tilted to China" he said adding China is trying to increase imports from Bangladesh. "China has offered zero tariffs to 4700 products of Bangladesh so that the export volume could rise."

Speaking as the Chair, Former Adviser of Caretaker Government Mirza AB Azizul Islam said China could help Bangladesh by mobilising capital, goods and services and labour to ensure a win-win trade relationship. He also said the capital mobilisation involves physical connectivity.
Mirza AB Azizul Islam said China could develop Bangladesh's poor infrastructure in their interest so that they could invest here.
He also urged Bangladeshi businesses to do research on Chinese customers' need so that they could design products to meet their demand.
Executive Director of Policy Research Institute Ahsan H Mansur said Bangladesh should utilise the advantage of development in China, the regional economic giant.
He said China could import labour from Bangladesh as the number of elderly citizens in China is on the rise compared to the young population.
