Chinese submarines, destroyers spotted in high seas near Okinawa

<Where else do people expect them to pass? Through Taiwan strait? That would just create more tensions.>

What tensions? The PLAN and PLAAF move freely in Taiwan Strait.

When Hong Kong was occupied by the British, the PLAN submarines and warships move freely in Hong Kong water.

No, it's got nothing to do with Taiwan Strait. China does this to remind the Japanese and US navies that the PLAN has the power to project fire power far from its shore.

Looking at the map, I think they choosed the most 'open' area to go through.
Where else do people expect them to pass? Through Taiwan strait? That would just create more tensions.

No doubt PLAN has a headache everytime they need to take a walk beyond the neighbourhood. "...what about the press, boss?"

Is that possbile having sth to do with 钓鱼台群岛(釣魚台群島) - so called The Senkaku Islands?

The mainland and Taiwan forces must unite on this point!

Except that Taiwanese gonvernment doesn't have the backbone to deal with the japanese, in summer 2008 a Taiwan fishing boat was deliberately rammed by a large japanese patrol vessel and had its crew captured, the taiwanese politicans did litte more than some protesting in public until the crews were returned, if that happened to mainland TG will no doubt send its gunboats over to show them how a real protest is done.

In fact reading on the wiki early 2009 while on a partrol mission near the diaoyutai islands two J-10s locked their missiles on three japanese F-2s and forced them to retreat back to the japanese airbase, that'll make them think twice before coming anywhere near to a chinese vessel.

just reminding japan that its many, many debts to the chinese people can be called in at any time, and with interest.

Still not willing to forgive Japan for WWII?

All is not helped by the repeated Japanese official visits to the Yasukuni shrine, refusal to acknowledge the tanjing massacre, publishing school textbooks that glorifies the japanese aggression in the WW-II and the list goes on. Many of them still in some ways have a sense of superiority over the rest of Asian countries, wouldn't you stand up to them if you were in China's shoes?

Don't mess with japs.

<Still not willing to forgive Japan for WWII?> BS question!!!!

Would the US forgive Japan for bombing Pearl Harbor? Would Japan forgive the US for dropping two atomic bombs?

Would the Jews forgive the Nazis for the Holocaust? Would the Native Americans forgive the white men for stealing their land?

Would things be peaceful if Indian Navy was patrolling 130-140 kms from Karachi??

Pakistan would be on HIGH alert. They would send in subs and frigates to counter us.

This kind of move is provoking the opposition.

There is nothing peaceful in it.

they were patrolling 300 kms from Shanghai, what's wrong with that?

Oh Yes, Maybe the People's Navy should not exsist in your world.

Lol, Japan will get used to it...it's just the beginning of China's blue ships...

Only 10 ships?

From wiki:

...According to ancient Chinese sources[citation needed], Zheng He commanded seven expeditions. The 1405 expedition consisted of 27,800 men and a fleet of 62 treasure ships supported by approximately 190 smaller ships.[18][19] The fleet included:
· Treasure ships (Chinese:宝船), used by the commander of the fleet and his deputies (nine-masted, about 126.73 metres (416 ft) long and 51.84 metres (170 ft) wide), according to later writers[citation needed]. This is more or less the size and shape of a football field. The treasure ships purportedly could carry as much as 1,500 tons. 1[20][21] By way of comparison, a modern ship of about 1,200 tons is 60 meters (200 ft) long,[22] and the ships Christopher Columbus sailed to the New World in 1492 were about 70-100 tons and 17 meters (55 ft) long.[23]
· Equine ships (Chinese:馬船), carrying horses and tribute goods and repair material for the fleet (eight-masted, about 103 m (339 ft) long and 42 m (138 ft) wide).[20]
· Supply ships (Chinese:粮船), containing staple for the crew (seven-masted, about 78 m (257 ft) long and 35 m (115 ft) wide).[20]
· Troop transports (Chinese:兵船), six-masted, about 67 m (220 ft) long and 25 m (83 ft) wide.[20]
· Fuchuan warships (Chinese:福船), five-masted, about 50 m (165 ft) long.[20]
· Patrol boats (Chinese:坐船), eight-oared, about 37 m (120 ft) long.[20]
· Water tankers (Chinese:水船), with 1 month's supply of fresh water.[20]
...

So 62+190=252 ships. Behold!
