It works by some physics we don't understand here as readers and they haven't explained it. That doesn't mean the physics being used and the machine doesn't work. There is a pretty important difference but it's no surprise you write the way you do about it lol.

General Electric publications and articles writing about new GE engines don't tell you how the engine works either. There is no substance in the article doesn't mean there is no substance in the computer.

Why are you guys ignoring the other ones?

Google has gone with processor method it seems. I don't know anything about quantum computing methods used but understand that Google's more conventional method and the photon based Chinese method are different approaches.

Google tells in papers how their quantum superpower is built and works.
It’s quantum mechanics. I don’t think there is a difference between western quantum mechanics and chinese mechanics. It’s as if quantum has a color or race.

What does all this mean?

encryption is essentially setting up a complicated password. the only way to find a password is through trial and error. by checking all possible combinations. the time to check all possible combinations can possibly take your entire lifetime, if your processing power is low.

with the rise in quantum computing comes a rise in processing power. No password is safe, all conventional means of encryption are now useless.
no encryption means all your secrets are now in the open. ready to be accessed.

you dont need a quantum computer to do many things, it only needs to do one thing and do it quickly.

Traditional computer relies on eletrons for the on and off (0 and 1) data bits but then electrons travel far far slower than photons. A photon travels at light speed delivers much great processing speed. Photons are already used in our daily fibre-optic data transmission for decades, and is common in home internet usage nowadays but these fibre-optics lines are connected to metal cables at some point which slows their speed because data transmitted by photons are converted to much slower electronic data.

Manupulating photons to switch on and off (0 and 1) to transmit bits of data, and to do data processing purely by photons is still extremely difficult, but not undoable.

Congratulation to China. Quantum computer is literally light year ahead in data processing speed.

You guys are aiming incredibly low. After the 53 qubit Sycamore was built in 2019 Google said the next one they will build will have 1,000,000.
