Chinese navy hospital ship Peace Ark arrived in southeastern Bangladesh port city Chittagong on Tuesday to start one-week goodwill visit and medical service to the local people.

A red cross was seen on the hospital ship which was easy to differentiate it from many other ships anchored at the jetty.
Peace Ark left China on August 31 to set out the mission code named "Harmonious Mission-2010".
The hospital ship visited Djibouti, Kenya, Tanzania and the Seychelles after providing medical services to the Chinese navy escort fleet in the Gulf of Aden and the Somali waters.
Bangladesh is Peace Ark's last stop of visit. Wang Zhiguo, the assistant commander of East China Sea Fleet who came from China to receive the hospital ship, told Xinhua the visit has proved the good wishes to establish harmonious world and harmonious sea.
Bangladesh navy held a welcome ceremony for the Chinese hospital ship. Many Chinese living in Bangladesh also came to express their regards to the crew of the hospital ship.
Bangladesh Industries Minister Dilip Barua said that he thanked China for choosing Bangladesh as a destination for the goodwill visit by the hospital ship.
Barua believed the visit will further strengthen the cooperation and friendship between the two countries and the two navies.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Zhang Xianyi said the hospital ship's visit to Bangladesh showed the Chinese government attached importance to the cooperation and friendship between the two countries.
Zhang is confident the visit will further promote the fraternal friendship between China and Bangladesh.
Barua had a check up in the ship which was a new experience for him.
Peace Ark has a 10,000-ton capacity with 428 crew members aboard.
Peace Ark will leave Bangladesh on Nov. 15 for China
