Chinese military team participates in disaster relief drill in Indonesia
In the past few days, a medical team of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), which is participating in the ASEAN Regional Forum exercise of disaster relief in Manado of Indonesia, provided for the local people free medical service including treatments of common diseases, consultations of miscellaneous diseases, demonstrations of Chinese medical skills, and health knowledge publicity.
Since its arrival on March 14, the medical team has treated 300-plus patients/times and distributed over 1,500 copies of brochure on disease prevention and control.
The PLA medical team was formed by 15 people from the Health Department of the General Logistics Department and the No. 302 Hospital of the PLA.
This is the first time for medical troops of the PLA to take part in the international multilateral joint operation and it is also the maiden joint exercise Chinas military medical troops staged with their counterparts from the member countries of the ASEAN Regional Forum.
