ISLAMABAD: The Chinese Embassy has refuted media reports that ministers and bureaucrats from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government have been denied visas.

A report from Khyber News said a delegation comprised of KP ministers and bureaucrats wanted to visit China to study the mass transit transport system and then start the same system in Peshawar.

However, the sources said, the Chinese embassy has rejected their applications for visas.

The embassy spokesman, Muhammad Lijian Zhao said this is misinformation and we are always ready to facilitate visit to China, including from KP.

The KP government has reservations on CPEC Western Route and approached the court over the matter.

Muhammad Lijian Zhao @zlj517
Ministers use blue passports and don't need visa to China. Reporting Chinese embassy refused visa to ministers is the joke of today. https://twitter.com/umarcheema1/status/801292360944676864 …

10:58 AM - 23 Nov 2016

Speaker KP Assembly Asad Qaisar named the federal government, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chairman National Highway Authority (NHA) in the petition questioning whether the western route of the CPEC is part of the project or not.

I feel sorry for Zhao. The guy has to clarify everything thanks to the politics our politicians play as well as due to our media. Western route, eastern route, he said this to us, he didn't say this, he didn't say that. The Chinese are about to learn that they are dealing with an extremely immature and childish nation filled with even more immature and childish politicians.

man you are so optimistic and really know how to sugar quote your words regarding these pawns (politicians) ......

That was Indian source? If only i had known. I thought Indian sources are not allowed in this forum. Gotta be careful next time. Either way, it is good news which means no more drama from PTI for the time being. :D

amazing... exactly thats what I was thinking too. I already clarified my point of view yesterday that most ministers have dilplomatic passport to begin with so they don't require visa in the first place... if they did want to apply or never got the diplomatic passport then its most likely the wrong type of visa or error in the information provoded etc

The bottom line is, that was entirely a fabricated news. Too much misinformation is being spread by anti-cpec elements and we really need to name and shame them so badly

Sir @Aether do you remember that yesterday we both were wondering why don't the KPK minister use the government official passports.

Don't they even think that how damaging such kind of lies are for the image of our nation and they are simply playing in the hands of enemies of CPEC.

First these dawn leaks, now this...I mean they are now very openly trying to sabotage CPEC. NS was there, with his sorry face, to inaugurate with our brave Gen Raheel. But we can see he is not happy. Despite his brother stealing money from CPEC fund to build ugly orange line :( :(

now here is true confirmation ............ please dont believe false rumor before confirming
KP Govt Delegation To Leave For China On Nov 30

An 11-member delegation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government would leave for Beijing on a five-day official visit on November 30, provincial government spokesman Mushtaq Ghani said Wednesday.

He said a news item published in a section of the press that the Chinese embassy had refused to issue visas to the KP government delegation, was totally baseless. A formal letter was written to the Foreign Office (Islamabad) and all the documents had been approved, Ghani said in a statement here.

He said the delay in processing of visas, due to some technical reasons, did not mean that the same had been refused by the embassy. Ghani said during the visit, the delegation would inspect mass transit system, particularly between two cities of China, from
technical point of view.

The visit, he said, had been sponsored by the Asian Development Bank. He said the KP government was taking measures to promote and encourage Chinese investment in the province. Ghani said the mass transit system would be a gift for the people of KP as it would ease traffic flow on roads in the provincial capital.
