Chinese description of Ancient South Asia

.
Yes you are right.
Buddhism had a huge impact on Hinduism

Actually its both ways.

Infact if you look at the larger picture all these were actually reform movements within Hinduism starting from 500 BC with Mahavira and continues even today. Thats why they are all clubbed together as Dharmic religions.

very interesting that Gupta khandaan ke waqt they would chop off hands for persistent crimes. Also the abstinence from liquor or harm to living creatures is very admirable. we south asians have such a beautiful history :smitten: not appreciated enough. it takes our brothers from across the himalyas to remind us :kiss3:

this is Indian/Bangaladesh/Nepal history bro. Muslims have nothing to do with this fake stories hogwash of blue gods and elephant head gods. may be for the hindus in Pakistan but certaintly not for us. Our history starts with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

.
^^There is no reason to disrespect others religion by calling it fake or hogwash. When you want people to respect your religion you must respect theirs also.

Hindus on here claim Hinduism is philosophy more than religion. So how can i make fun of religion? :what::omghaha:

But isn't his post a nice comment on the things not explicitely said in the original article? The original article talks of a time of tolerance. History shows us how that beautiful ideal was violently smashed and replaced with violent zombies with permanently subjugated minds.

He's but a victim. Why should we become victims too although the temptation and opportunity is ample?

I do not follow religion, that gives me the option of choosing the good from my culture.

That's true.

If Ancient Chinese were intolerant (racially/culturally/religiously), why would we have voluntarily accepted a South Asian person (Gautama Buddha) as one of our main Gods?

In fact it is possible that people in the Ancient times were more tolerant than people today.

Buddhism was not forcibly spread to China by the sword or the flame, but voluntarily co-opted by travelers and pilgrims like Xuanzang and Faxian.

if persians, kurds, tajiks can be proud of their pre-Islamic history and celebrate nowrooz, farhavhar and cyrus, why can't we at least acknowledge our roots/where we came from? we are all thankful and proud muslims Alhumdulillah. every nation has their history, you don't have to bow down to it and follow what our ancestors did, but respecting it as our history nothing more nothing less.. there's no harm in that. especially if some positive things existed in that history which don't conflict with the teachings of our Prophet (s.a.w.), like scientific achievements or some good aspects of governance.

please leave your frog in the well, boxed mentality at home when interacting with people of different faiths. Islam teaches us to respect all faiths, to not commit sins like degrade, demean and insult others.

A video on the great Nalanda University. Fahien and Xuanzang lived several years at Nalanda.
