Both USA and Japan realize China will have the military power to force the issue before 2020, so they are stepping up the provocation to trigger war earlier to their advantage. But China is applying a mix of military might and diplomacy:

India has no intentions to contain china we're only worried with the agressive nature of ur govt just like this thread states so we're building up our defences. as far as u.s is concerned we're leveraging its insecurity towards china for the time being thats all.india never chose sides in the past it will never will in future.as far as ur shooting claims are concerned with out any credible source its just b.s..and yes china may have one of the largest armed forces but our defences are capable to hold off china..

With what ships? With what weapon? With what money? With what manpower?

To elaborate. Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force has only 48 surface vessel, all of which concentrate on anti-submarine operations with some anti-air capacity. Heck, their longest ranged missile is a coastal defense missile that has less than half the range of the fire-fighting missiles exported by China. Not to mention Japan has a 270% debt to GDP ratio and the debt keep growing. Its force is already being ran ragged.
While Japan has the third largest economy in the world, its military to nothing to write home about, except may be about the lacking of it.

We only need to supply one division of troops to adequately defend our border while India army have to constantly field and supply dozens of them just to maintain the balance. This means 1 dollar equivalent of our military budget managed to cancel out 20 or even 30 dollar equivalent of Indian military budget. A very good trade.
This is before factoring in the fact that Chinese army uses domestically made equipments and Indian army have to import their gear, thus farther skewing the spending.
Not to mention with more troop boggled down along China-India border, there will be less pressure on Pakistan.

Sir with all due respect China's military capability exceeds that of India in all aspects and the quantitative advantage that China posses can't be matched by India anytime soon! With that being the case, India will NOT invade Tibet for China to defend the border! Meanwhile it is NOT a cake walk for Chinese to do another 1962, Let peace prevail!

It also means that India have quality imports.... The P8I's, Phalcon Awacs and C-17's Advantage which China never have anytime soon! Still China is NOT self sufficient, It still imports Fighter engines from Russia.

There is another angle to it... India has only 2 adversary... But Thanks to China's handling of its neighbor... they have to allocate some resources to US, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and South China Sea Adversary's... It cannot concentrate all its resources against India!

And China nurtures Pakistan to tackle India... It is Stupidness to wage a war against India, rather than fighting with the proxy whom you nurtured for decades!

And the sole winner of Indo-Sino war is neither India, nor China... It will always be the US!
