Most of these predictions of future cities show sky-high taller buildings like it's been shown here but will there be any need of such tall buildings in future?

Asia currently hosts most of the mega-tall or super-tall buildings in the world which makes sense because of the high population density of Asian countries/cities (and obviously the petrodollars of the Middle East which is temporary). But in the next few decades, populations of most of the Asian countries will start to stagnate or decline due to the end of the demographic dividend.

I don't think Europe is that much interested on skyscrapers considering their low density which should remain that way even in 100 years. Even the US is not undertaking any significant supertall projects, let alone megatall.

Africa will see the highest population growth in the next decades, but considering their low density at present, they must have enough space to not feel the need of expanding vertically in the future either.

Global Warming and SMOG are two major problems to contend with. These phenomenon will influence the course of [our] future.

Future of mankind might turn out like in the Blade Runner 2047 film.
