Chinese bulletproof mask

features:Ballistic material: Aramid fiber Ballistic criteria: Chinese level II / US NIJ level IIIA, resisting 7.62 x 51mm pistol bullet (lead core) by Chinese 54 type pistol, as well as 9mm FMJ (V 427m/s) by 9mm Uzi SMG and 0.44 Magnum (V 440m/s) Ballistic area: 0.045m2 Total weight: 0.4kg Thickness: 6mm Feature: impact-resistant, waterproof, heat insulation, non ricochet, anti-ultraviolet, comfortable wearability, light-weight, low specific gravity (able to float on water), able to work separately from helmet, etc Application: special military or police forces, prisoner escort, security personnel, bodyguard Special note: resisting only one shot of bullet

I would be worried as well about the energy absorption from the bullet. Where the mask seems to be so contoured to the face. The bullet may not penetrate but could still cause damage. There is a reason the other ballistic masks are not contoured.

Thomas,

I completely agree with you. Just because you can make a contoured armored mask, does not make it the most logical choice. I just see shattered teeth and jawbones with this contraption.

Isn't it still better than a dead soldier???

Pictures of the mask point to fiberglass.
I believe you mean 7.62x25 (Type 54) and not 7.62x51.
Impact from the .44 magnum is going to break your neck.
Projectile will ricochet due to contoured shape and thickness.
If the material is Aramid, then it will not float. UHMWPE material like Dyneema or Spectra will be bouyant.

Count on the Chinese to surprise the world, way to go !!!!!!!! :china:
Who would have thought of bullet proof masks ?????

I must say that this will probably be "Bullet Resistant" rather than "Bullet Proof".............................

This is a strange mask, it looks like the mask which is used in "mask dance", it is too thin.If some one say that model can defend the attack of bullet, I can't agree with you.

Here is big papa telling the penny brigade to fall in line !

Communist, what makes you think this is a state secret? If it is available on the net with a search how can it be a state secret. I know you may have a problem with google but try other search engines. They may also point you in the right direction.
