ISLAMABAD: Chinese artists gave a superb performance at the National Council of the Arts (PNCA) while celebrating the 67th anniversary of the founding day of their country.
The event was arranged in collaboration with the Embassy of the People's Republic of China. Artists from Hunan Art Ensemble and China and the National Performing Art Group displayed avariety of programmes in a traditional way and received thunderous appl+ause from the audience jampacked in the Council's hall.
By dint of their performance, the Cultural Troupe showed solidarity with the people of Pakistan, aimed at strengthening the bonds of Pak-China Friendship. The performance was also a message of goodwill for the Pakistani brothers and sisters.
The performance included Chinese songs, dances and artistic shows. The troupe thrilled the audience with their own popular melody sound of prosperity.
The Information Minister Senator Pervez Rashid, the Special Assistant to the PM, Irfan Siddiqui and the Ambassador to Pakistan, Sun Weidong were also present on the occasion, They spoke about the prevailing warmth, love and affection between the people of the two countries, hoping these sentiments would get deeper with the passage of time.
Senator Pervez Rashid appreciated the performance and said it reflected the rich Chinese culture that has survived in full bloom over the period time. Irfan Siddiqui highlighted the depth of Sino-Pak ties and said these had been growing at a fast pace meeting the common aspirations of their people.
Ambassador Sun Weidong said on the occasion that the relationship between the two countries was reaching new heights with substantive progress on the socio-economic uplift of the people, under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
He hoped that that the two brotherly countries would continue to make joint efforts to further promote the Pak-China friendship, realise common dreams, and achieve the goal of a shared destiny.
He was confident that the two countries would continue to develop their socio-economic ties so as to meet the common aspirations of their people.
It may be mentioned here that the national day on Oct 1 is celebrated throughout mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau with a variety of government-organised festivities, including fireworks and concerts.
