look at two map, there is an American flag on the chinese border in the Korean Peninsular. Unless you are saying it was SOUTH KOREA who are bordering China what you said does not make sense.

On the other hand, look at the US flag in Japan, they overlapped, which mean if there were two bases there in the south and they meant to portrait it that way, they will overlap the two bases with 2 overlapped American flag, like what they did with Japan. but they didn't.

So, no, this is just a bad hit job.
