China’s yuan ‘not ready’ to join IMF basket of currencies, says US

If there is one government that needs to ensure more transparency, and rid its serious corruption problems and clean up its financial system and institutions, as bad or worse than that of China's allegedly "opaque" system, it is good ole' USA.

Haven't we had enough of "corporate welfare" and dole-outs to "banks too big to fail"? Haven't we seen enough currency manipulation and carpet-bagging from the likes of a George Soros, a rogue trader and manipulator?

In China, at least, they prosecute and jail these people. In the US, they are not only not being prosecuted... they own the government officials, and thrive in US' corrupt "pay to play" political culture of government-oligarch collusion and conspiracy to fleece the public and sock it to the "little guy."

Apparently, For far too long, the US has been getting a free ride from the rest of the world by merely paying for its import of oil, luxury cars, machinery, and other goods and services with trillions of worthless pieces of printed paper and IOUs, which it has never had the slightest intention to honour or repay. As its day of reckoning draws near, Uncle Sam, the bloated world parasite knows it's final days are numbered. Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Ascribe their crazy lunatic behavior to the painful realization of one's own pathetic situation.

They will go more extreme. They will not go down without a bang. The world's main task today is to manage the declining lunatic with the least casualty.

If it is some other country who says that "China's RMB is not ready", then I will pay attention.

The US has no credibility when it comes to financial management, weren't they the engineer of the GFC arising from the sub-prime fiasco. Their bankers are the biggest conman and are worried as they are being slowly exposed.

After the 2008 financial crisis, how many countries still look to the US for financial leadership?

This isn't about financial leadership, though the US is still a very well respected leader, especially as it's one of few nations to escape the 2008 financial crisis intact (our economy is doing well), rather this debate is about the stability of reserve currencies as an investment option.

Currently, no currency tops the USD. In fact, according to this article, the USD has been gaining ground, not ceding it to new-comers like the RMB. The RMB isn't considered a good investment option due to rigid currency controls imparted upon it.

Do countries look to the US for financial leadership? Yes they do as the US economy is growing steadily and QE worked, something Japan and the EU are now trying almost ten years after the US.

Do they look at the USD as a safe investment? More than any other currency, by a long-shot.

At first, I thought it was quite peculiar that we have two "Swedes" who are staunch supporters of any US policies. Then I thought, oh wait, what happened to Olof Palme? Hmmm, could it be that the two "Swedes" suffer some kind of Stockholm syndrome?

How long will USA continue you embarrass itself?

They have been doing it for a long time and still get away with it.

How's Germany under US's control?

Not good at all, as you can see from my posts, but at least there is a big lake between us while you don't have that natural advantage.

In Canada, we think US as our big brother. But they are not really helping us much nowadays. They are too concerned in the middle east.

I'm not aware of the situation in Germany as US is still in control in that area.

My Canadian friends don't think that the US is benevolent to Canada but as the much bigger neighbor, what can you do?

US control is weakening in Germany, that's why they started the whole mess in the Ukraine. Either they will fail big time or we'll be in a bigger mess. It's a lose-lose situation for all of us, unless the US gives up due to an economic implosion and pack their bags. In that case, they'll be losing and Eurasia will win with Germany, Russia and China taking centre-stage in world politics.

I see. They are diverting their attention to Ukraine.
Your Canadian friends don't know where the money comes from. 75% of trade are directly exported to the US. When US companies decided to ban meat product and lumber imported to the States from Canada, all hell broke loose. Not only that the US has a bigger and larger army. Canada relies on that. As a "peace keeping" country, Canada, decided not to have one. But now, things are different.

What causes the US control to weaken in Germany?

I don't care much about your relationship with the US, since you are not even our neighbour and have zero influence on us.

US influence is weakening because more and more people in the EU just dislike what the US does in the world and we have all precondition to be absolutely independent to the US. We have the markets, the technology and the raw materials in Eurasia.

Lets get back to the topic!

Easy there cupcake. I want to understand the relationship between the EU and US. You're the closest person to know more about this than anyone. You know what they say EU and Canada is just American & British's limbs.

A Eurasian co-operation is the nightmare for the Anglo-American world, including Canada, that's why we work hard to make the nightmare for the Anglo-American world become real. :)

It's good that corporate america is corrupted. I wonder what confidence investors will have in US when another 2008 financial crisis hit the US in the near future?
Let them continue their way, just relax sit back and watch.
