China's warships perfect fit for Russian navy, says magazine


The August issue of Russia's National Defense Magazine has advised the country to buy warships from China to compensate for its own weakness in shipbuilding and to strengthen Russia's power in the Asia-Pacific region.

China's Type 054A frigate may be an ideal option for Russia, the report said.

Well I agree Russia faces serious problems in making Frigates and Destroyers and China can be off good help to Russia they are buying ships from France so China can be lot easier

Forget about the Type 055 and the Type 052D. we don't even have enough for ourselves first.

As for the Type 054A, I don't think it is big enough for the Russian taste.

And I always thought Russia is also good in making ships; their Kirov-class battlecrusies, Typhoon-class (Akula) subs, Bora-class hover corvette and Kiev-class and Kuznetsov-class carriers are impressive.

They've always stressed firepower and sacrificed quantity.

I think this idea also goes well with the concept of "force multiplying" as Russian navy is not as massive compared to the US.

all of them are come from Soviet era, and right now their shipbuilding capabilities facing tremendous challenges
