Actually that is a distinct possibility that China needs to prepare for. A few SSN should be based in the Indian Ocean to ambush US ships trying to blockade shipping lanes. I am also in favour of converting 094 class into cruise missile platforms after 096 starts to enter service, so those boats can strike US bases in the region as well.

Never count on the good will of your opponents.

I'm saying a world war isn't something the world needs and China's obsession with taking over democratically elected Taiwan could bring a world war which would put everyone's life in danger. And in general I am giving you guys some good reasons to think many times before starting that war, to convince you this isn't something you want to advocate for, because such a war, even if it's limited to conventional weapons, is sure to bring a famine and an energy crisis to China on scales probably Mao haven't reached.

And even though you did save Jews, and we are thankful for everyone that ever did, that does not legitimize risking such a global war. Give up on Taiwan or a world war is inevitable, China is acting irrational over this piece of land.

It could easily be blocked even by forces 2000km away from China. In reality Chinese navy will be quickly sunk and all Chinese naval factories would be rained down with a ton of missiles.

Too shallow....
The gap between the largest (USN) and the second largest (PLAAN) is not that big to secure effective blockade. They are only effective again much smaller navy like those of Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, or maybe Russian, but for sure not PLAAN China with the largest qty of submarine.

Furthermore, the largest navy in the world still has no solution against hypersonic YJ-21, also in countering rain of YJ-12 and YJ-18, not to mention DF-26.
4000km is still within reach of DF-26, leave alone only 2000km away.

There is no such a reality, it is only absurd analysis of yours. The more reasonable analysis: USN will suffer many ship loss by PLAN's submarines, YJ series from Type 052 and Type 055, including USN's supercarrier will be at huge risk against strong navy.

China has so many small drone ships to sacrifice in order to open some area from mine threat, small area to be opened will be enough.

The question is: how many mines US have to isolate China's ships from entering blue sea, especially without jeopardizing ships both commerce & military from her ally (Taiwan, South Korea, Japan etc) and from other countries as well?

The answer: not enough; and no guarantee can avoid her ally's ship from the danger of the her own mines.

Do you have any idea how long line of the sea from sea nearby korea to nearby vietnam to cover in order to blockade China ? thousands mine will not be enough!
Do you think US bombers can fly safe along the line deploying mine within 2000km from China coast? without being intercepted or even monitored by China's radar/satelite? Even 1 US bomber can be monitored since taking off from Guam/Japan/Korea.

Do you think it is so easy to sink a 055? only with sea mine?
Do you think when 1 chinese ship exploded by mine then the remaining 052 & 055 will follow suit?

I know China imports lot of food, but they also produce lot. They are the largest producer of food grains in the world. In fact they hold more 50% of world's total food grains. The amount they accumulated will allow them to run for a long time in times of crisis.
