They are no Han Chinese in origin. They belong to Bai Yue.

Trần Minh came from Fuian to Vietnam in time of An Dương Vương 257-207 BCE when Jin army invaded into South China, so his ancestor is Min Yue (Bai Yue) in origin.

Hồ Quý Ly ancestor came to Vietnam from Zhe Jiang (Wu Yue) in 7th century ACE.

Both has been taken the throne after 500 year and 1,200 year, so they were mostly Vietnamized. they were not considered as Wu Yue nor Min Yue any more by Vietnamese. Vietnamese belong to Bai Yue too.
