Check out what this ******* has to say. This 'piece of wisdom' comes straight from the mouth of the new Sri Lankan government's Finance Minister (a man who was so corrupt he destroyed Sri Lanka's government retail outlet Sathosa). Nice way to show *** ****** ****** to a friend who stood by you through thick and thin. I have absolutely no idea how using a megaphone to broadast this idea is in Sri Lanka's interests in any way. I'm sure India will be mightily pleased with this as this ugly coot has been appointed by Ranil Wickremasinghe, Sri Lanka's new Prime Minister and India's puppet.

The newly appointed Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake recently revealed that steps have been taken to transfer funds, amounting to close to eight billion rupees in an account allegedly maintained by the Former Defence Secretary at the Taprobane Branch of Bank of Ceylon, to the Treasury. In an interview with Dailymirror , Minister Karunanayake spoke on this issue, as well as other corruption charges against the previous regime, the current state of the Treasury and the new regime’s financial plan for the future.

Believe me.Even China want to see India as the major power of our galaxy.

If India can develop much better,we can have more opportunities and huger overseas market. It's seem like the relation between China and America.

However,India should do more to match the golden laurel firstly. For example, enough clean water, unceasing electric power, toilets and enough domiciles should be provided.

There still is about 100 million poor population in China,so,we call ourselves developing country until now and never post such ideal that China is the super power or leader of Asia.

The name such as "super power""leader of Asia" belong to India.China only need the title such as "wealthy and civilized country" although there's still a long time to go.

Wait for people to blame us on this everyone knows that we never interfere with the internal affairs of our noeghbours
Sorry, I have no intention to do that.

Because it make no sense at all to analyze and criticize such news of Hindustan times.

Sri Lanka to Reduce China’s Involvement to Cut Corruption

COLOMBO: The new Maithripala Sirisena government in Sri Lanka is to reduce China’s involvement in the island nation’s economy to cut corruption which had attained gargantuan proportions in the Mahinda Rajapaksa era, the Minister of Finance, Ravi Karunanayake has said.

“The economic presence of China needs to be reduced to eliminate corruption. We are not specifically against anybody. If China can give us loans at 0.5 percent we would love to take them, but not at 8 percent. Four to five percent went into the pockets of certain individuals and two or three family members,” Karunanayake told Daily Mirror on Saturday. He was referring to the loot allegedly cornered by the Rajapaksa family.

According to the Dr.Harsha de Silva, Deputy Minister of Policy Planning, Chinese projects cost three times more than Japanese funded ones. The Chinese built railways were four times costlier than the Indian built ones. For example, the Kadawatta-Kerawelapitiya stretch of the Outer Circular Road in Colombo built by the Chinese, cost LKR 7.3 billion per kilometer. But the Japanese funded Kottawa-Kaduwela stretch cost only LKR 2.4 billion per km.:rofl::rofl:

De Silva further said that the US$ 1.3 billion Chinese built Hambantota harbor, and the US$ 300 million Mattala airport, are both unusable. On top of all that, the Rajapaksa government agreed to projects worth US$ 1.2 billion during President Jinping’s visit last year.

The Sirisena government is reviewing the Chinese funded Northern Highway Project and the US$ 1.5 billion Colombo Port City project built on reclaimed land.

Built by the China Communication Construction Company (CCCC), the Port City project envisages the leasing out of a part of the sea bed and land to China. The new government says that the project had not gone through proper environment and strategic impact analyses. The Law of the Sea had been disregarded said one minister.

India had also objected saying that the Port City could be an observation post to snoop on Indian shipping in a situation where 70 percent of Colombo port’s business comes from Indian trans-shipment.

But CCCC said in a press release on January 22, that an environment impact study was done by the University of Moratuwa, approved by the cabinet, and published.

Expressing Beijing’s concern, the state-owned Global Times said: “ The Chinese side will suffer heavy losses if the US $ 1,.5 billion Colombo Port City project started in September, is halted. Given similar cases in Myanmar, this has triggered many concerns domestically.”

so this ally thing was just a cover to actually take lanka for a ride .
good job china:china:

.
Please ignore this idiot. He has problems with the current government so nos he wishes to destroy the entire country so he can prove his point.

Few inefficient Chinese investments like new port and airport would be cancelled not because of anything but the lack of benefits they provide. They were merepy initiated to fulfil previous president's ego.

.
We still have a unbreakable pakistan port presence in India ocean and still park submarine beside india. :P

We are nowhere near achieving the status of Superpower & need to solve all these problems that you have mentioned
Anywhere who calls India of being a superpower is a ignorant

If the new SL government is real impartial, they will not say such words. I can forsee SL economic going downhill in next few years. Cannot believe a Sinhalese betray for Hindi. OP starting this thread has its real clause.
