China's population to near 1.4 billion by 2015

Well if they need more land they can always reclaim some from India in west side , I am sure it would be possible , which technically was disputed , I think there is some ppl called Moist or someting trying to go back to China

China needs more land for growth - :china:

China has almost 50% of its land sparely populated.

Once China's urban population is about 60-70%,the population growth rate will be negative as in case of Japan or Russia.

i love this guy. he talks about human rights, and pollution, and greenhouse gases, while also talking about "cutting" chinese people.

do you realize that the US with a population 1/4 that of china produces more pollution? so why do you not suggest that americans cut THEIR population? Why do you not suggest that australians stop munching so many burgers and reducing per capita pollution? hypocrites.

the more laughable thing is "if china cut its population its economy would be stronger". how do you know? are you an economist? per capita income doesn't go up when population goes down, the relationship is not linear, since less people have less ability to produce wealth.

thanks though for showing your racism.

sorry you said yourself total means nothing only per capita means anything, US per capita pollution is #1. unless you mean to say, that we have inherently less rights to utilize resources because we're not white burger munchers.

don't get a heart attack old man, burgers are bad for health.

You would not think as most people in China still ride bicycles that they would polute so much, looks like China is not doing anything about polution and expecting it to double. USA polution growth seems fairly flat, glad you finally figured out what per capita means.

There population is out of control. The whole world is overpopulated and it is contributing to global warming. Countries like china and india need to cut there populations.

I agree. :tup::tup:

educate people and reduce # of births.

Hmm, the U.S has population growth rate about twice as high as China's and an average American consumes five times as much energy as an average Chinese. Therefore the population growth in the U.S creates ten times the problem as the population growth in China.

I think it's the high time for the U.S to be a responsible stakeholder in humanity's future and make the necessary effort to rein in its population growth.

Wat i find amaznig is, China 1.3 Billion people (1st largest), India 1.1 Billion(2nd)
Pakistan 170 Million (6th) and Bangladesh 160 Million (7th). ALL these for are neighbours and have the extremenly high population.

A product of being poor but not poor enough to starve.

I don't think so, we're better off than most countries in the world.

Total population is not the cause of problems (since more people means a larger work force avaliable to produce wealth, especially in our case where the vast majority are educated at least to a high school level), population growth outstripping GDP increase is!

This is why Senegal and Sierra Leone are dirt poor even though they have tiny populations and average population densities - their population growth > GDP growth thus everyone gets poorer and poorer... and then they try to create more "workers" to increase "wealth" produced but they have no education, can't find valuable work, and can only have more children to try and get more wealth...
