Well I think history is very imprecise thing and depends on which party you are speaking. I won't deny the hard work and maneuver done by the Chinese people. Now tell me if Nixon didn't do that then do you think china can be world manufacturing capital as of understanding China export goes to west (EU+USA) without them whom do you think you guys could of export too and do the manufacturing.

Even before we close off, the West ALWAYS want to open us up to do TRADE. This dated back to the Qing era when they forced us to trade on their term. Why do you think the West want to trade with us? Simple. We have the resources and manpower to make things happen, faster and more efficient than any country in the world. Our production efficiency is unparalleled. That's why everyone wants to manufacture in China. It has nothing to do with pity the Chinese. We earn it ourselves. Nobody helps us. Make this fact in your head. Are you forgetting the huge profit the West gain from trading with us?

More than 46 million Americans have been on the program for 35 straight months. Official data from the Department of Agriculture (USDA) showed that the food stamp program known as SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) grew unprecedentally [sic] in terms of both enrollment and spending, from the time Obama took office. The official figure stands at 46 million Americans receiving $76.1 billion yearly. In 2010, the number was at 44 million. In 2009, nearly 39 million people were on the program. In 2000, the figure was 17 million.

46 million of American represent 14.6% of all American (Totalling 321 millions), which is actually lower than 2011 poll (17.8) and 2013 poll (17.4) and 2014 Poll (17.2)

Also, not all of them can't afford food. Some of them are welfare cheater. Which is a very common thing in the west. I personally know at least 10 family doing it in the US. Why pay for stuff when you can simply ask the government to pay for it?

Getting food stamp and cannot afford food is two very different aspect. Maybe it is the same in China, it is not in the USA

Dude, first of all, people cannot afford food, or CLAIM they cannot afford food will be covered with Social Welfare program, such as travel expense discount and food stamp and also hand-out in the US.

Every country have poor people, China have it, US have it, Australia have it. And in the US the number is decreasing by the year since 2008 so I don't see what point you want to raise?

Also, welfare fraud is quite rampant in the US and any welfare state, The federal government estimate welfare fraud contribute to 8.1% of welfare benefits. Something you won't see happening in China.

Too tiny to be significant and certainly too tiny to provide the world with surplus food and production. That's why they can't sanction us. I know it. I did not argue against the numbers you posted although I suspect the numbers might be doctored.

The point of the article I posted is that the decreasing numbers might not tell the truth because more people are on welfare.

Well, as I said, not being able to afford your next meal is not the same as people start getting unemployment or supplement security income. While the first one is calculated on how much money a person or family earn, the second one bet on actual people applying said welfare.

You simply cannot use the number of people applying welfare as anything meaningful. Sometime some people aren't poor, they are just lazy.
