Worry firstly the real estate price in HK,One house on certain monutain of HK can support one Chang E 4 mission.

Yes the real estate prices in Hong Kong are crazy, it's because we have so little available land, on HK island especially. So much is already built on reclaimed land, even the HK airport is built entirely on reclaimed land.

The achievements of the Mainland are giving pride to all Chinese. :china:

We should look towards developing a moon base in cooperation with Russia, that will give us a huge strategic advantage in space while the USA only cares about building walls and white nationalism.

Lol I just watched a video on housing in HK. Tbh HK doesn't lack land; what HK lack is the political will to recover land and to push down prices (which can be unpopular). People may mock Singapore as authoritarian, but I'm damn glad that the government goes down hard and fast on property developers when the need arises.

Example last year:
2nd July: Private home prices jumped by 9.1 per cent year-on-year
4th July: Central Bank warns of 'euphoria', government monitoring housing market closely
5th July: Heavy cooling measures announced, effective from 6th July
Developers: Government is 'draconian and heavy-handed'.
17th Oct: Increased average minimum size of private flats, effective on 17 Jan 19 (today )

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/new...v-expected-but-heavy-handed-analysts-10503276

MAJOR property stocks fell sharply on trade on Thursday on the government’s latest move to cut the maximum number of units allowed in new private flat and condo developments outside the central area from early next year.

The authorities are cutting the number of units allowed in a project and increasing the average size of new private flats outside the central area to at least 85 square metres, up from 70 sq m beginning Jan 17, 2019.

The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) also said on Wednesday that nine areas in Singapore - up from four presently - will be subject to an even more stringent minimum average requirement of 100 sq m.

The URA said that this move was made to manage potential strains on local infrastructure and ensure the liveability of residential estates.

HK will definitely do much better in housing if the government has that political will. But then again most HKers themselves are vested in high prices because of mortgage loan. What's the average price of a unit now?

SCMP - Average price of used homes in Hong Kong soar to a record US$1.28m in first quarter

It's actually worse than that, because HK properties tend to be smaller so the price per square foot is crazy.

Congratulations China.

One of the greatest achievements since the Soviet Union launched mankind's first satellite, the Sputnik into space on 4th October 1957.

A truly great achievement by China.

Hopefully we will see habitable bases on the moon in the not-too-distant future.

Might even be cheaper to live there compared to HK. :P

We should look towards developing a moon base in cooperation with Russia, that will give us a huge strategic advantage in space while the USA only cares about building walls and white nationalism.

The US must be encouraged to continue to go that direction. This is a practical and effortless way to make them themselves pave the way for their own demise.

Greater cooperation with Russia (now trade soaring over 100 billion) is just another good side effects of the US seeing red everywhere, including metro cars (spying on very sensitive US commuters and a short-video application).

I like it, because it allows me to academically study neofascism in practice.

The US is self-destructing as we speak, Trump will keep the US government shut down for years if he feels like it. All for a border wall with Mexico which doesn't actually do anything, since most of them come by sea or air.

If we are lucky, Trump really is a Russian agent. He has even tried to pull the US out of NATO.

Michael Flynn has already been found guilty of manipulating US foreign policy on behalf of Turkey. Can you believe it, the US government superpower being bought off by Turkey.

Indeed, a country that has a legal industry in buying politics both nationally and internationally complains that China-made metro trains spy on them.

Why would one want to get into the extra trouble by trying to spy why it is much easier to spend much less money on some key figures in US government and then get the result you want?

In fact, China does not even bother to spend money on lobbying. Small countries like Israel, UAE, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Armenia are doing excellent job and no body complains.

If Trump is indeed working for Russia, then, China has a favor tor return. It is incredible to watch how a country goes down on its own volition.

No!The reason is you have too much parks,a little bit too much public parks, demolishing several of them will not make HK desert but well,HK envir.protectionnist funded by western countries and organizations would have things to argue and to sue HK gov,so ...live with it.

If I am governor of HK, I would offer 90% of appartments as public housing at a flat price to all relatively low ibcome Hongongers (percent even higher than Singapore)and let the rest 10% deal in the free market whatever how high the real estate price is.Jack MA or LI Jia Cheng can always afford them.
Today only 38% to 45% of appartments are public housing,no wonder HK people hate the HK gov and Mainland China gov,I will hate Mainland gov and HK myself if i am homeless as well as in HK.
But do not take Mainland Chinese tourists granted, need to be regulated though.HK afterall has only 7.6 millions people, too small compared to Mainland China.
