China's Korean War movie smashes box office record, China became the world biggest movie market

. .
English version?

1. When US went into Korea, she started in Incheon and pushed N Korea to Yalu river.
2. When China went into Korea, she started in Yalu and pushed US to 38th.

The conclusions, its a geopolitical stalemate for Korea but military and geopolitical victory for China.

* US won North Korea
* China won US
Chinese forced US-led forces to retreat all the way back to Pusan and captured numerous lands of South Korea including Seoul.

US-led forces regrouped in Pusan and had to re-capture much of South Korea including Seoul (3rd battle for this city) and redraw 38th parallel by extension. Original objective was achieved.

Chinese also saved and secured North Korea. This was impressive accomplishment as well.

This war frustrated all stakeholders nevertheless.

I am not sure how US can justify the fact that a bunch of riflemen won against an enemy equipped with the most advance army navy and airforce.

This is a war US dont create a Rambo movie or Top Gun out of it. Too disgusting.
This isn't 1980s. All armies involved were comparable to each other in the 1950s.

Actually US never won a single war against communists anywhere, USSR collapsed by itself, but was not defeated by US in a real war.
Afghanistan and Iraq?

China prevented defeat of communists in the Korean War. US-led forces had almost defeated DPRK and USSR otherwise.

US-led forces failed in Vietnam but this war lasted 17 years as well.

UN forces enjoyed the air superiority and dominanted the sky over the battle fields through out the entire war, that's why PVA sufferred much higher casualty. UN forced were much better equipped and supplied. PVA made up the deficit in equipment with more bodies. So no, they were not comparable to each other.

North Korean military was among the best equipped forces of the time. It wasn't easy for US-led forces to rout it from South Korea, and US-led forces were not in great shape inside DPRK due to losses suffered in prior battles and environmental challenges when Chinese military intervened. Chinese troops (being new to the battlefield) were in best shape and motivated on the other hand - this is logical. US-led forces were under pressure to retreat all the way back to Pusan and regroup in order to handle Chinese military in the region. These realities are well-documented.

Yes, US-led had air superiority over Chinese military - this I give to you. However, USSR was providing air cover to communists in the region with its impressive MiG-15s but Soviets suffered heavy losses in resulting aerial clashes as well. American pilots proved to be better therefore.

Communists were united and brought whatever they could in the Korean War to negate 'perceived superiority' of equipment of US-led forces in the region. But battles are won by men in the end.

the Northeast Anti Japanese democratic coalition army.

Do you know what "coalition army" means?

In the "coalition army", there are not only Chinese, but also Koreans, Soviets, Mongols and even the Communist Party of Japan.

Kim Il Sung is a general of the Northeast Anti Japanese coalition army. The three divisions were adapted by his Korean subordinates. When Kim Il Sung returned home, CCP returned the three divisions to him.

These North Korean troops helped CCP participate in three years of Chinese civil war. Kim Jong Il asked CCP to support some weapons, and the CCP would certainly not refuse.

Didn't you read the rest of the telegram? Mao would have sent in Chinese troops if things don't go to plan since he knew nobody would notice the difference between Koreans and Chinese.

That is the slander of Anti China Writers.
How did the author know Mao Zedong's ideas?

Agree. People forget that the soviet Union was also heavily involved in the war, albeit not directly. Stalin sent lots of soviet pilots, arms, equipment and logistics officers in Korea to aid the DPRK and Chinese throughout the duration of the war. To act as if it was only China who was fighting fighting US single handedly is false .
Moreover, China was fighting the US closed to its borders(might as well been like fighting at home)and they intervened when they US had already been engaging the North Koreans for some time. It's like say Russia fighting the US in say Mexico or Canada. If Russia can even last 1month I will give them my respect. Lol Much less hold their own and maintain their control over the country.
The US is situated the other side of the world. To have been fighting a war thousands of miles away from home soil the other side of their continent against 2 big powers (China and even more so the mighty Soviet Union) close to their own borders and still managed to hold their ground was nothing but impressive actually if we look at it that way as well.
It's also for similar reason China was never able to take small Taiwan. Fighting a war close to your country's land border for a big power is easier than fighting a war across the ocean/sea, with everything that entails as logistics, transport, equipment, training etc. Easier said than done in that case.

Thanks for your input.

USA was certainly up against the Trio of USSR, China and DPRK in the region, and still managed to save South Korea. Weather conditions of the region were harsh as well, particularly in winter. Very impressive accomplishment TBH.

On the other side, China made it possible for the Communist camp to save DPRK. It was gone otherwise. USSR and DPRK both failed to stop USA early on. There was much back and forth though which frustrated all sides.

Some do not realize how difficult this war turned out to be. USA did well given the odds in the region.
