Quality and Indian are two separate things...they don't get together, though the cosmetics are good, what lies beneath the bonnet, beneath that cosmetics are crap and worst quality in safety, no wonder more Indians die in road accidents than any other country, about 1.6 lacs per year...

...here it is about bad air quality.

How Delhi became the most polluted city on Earth

Breathing in the Indian capital this month was like smoking 50 cigarettes a day.

Delhi has earned the unenviable distinction of becoming the most polluted city on Earth this month, as air quality has reached epically bad proportions.

On November 8, pollution surged so high that some monitoring stations reported an Air Quality Index of 999, way above the upper limit of the worst category, Hazardous. (An extra-sensitive air quality instrument at the US embassy got a reading of 1,010, as you can see in the chart below.)

Nissan India Exports 5,00,000th Car(3 year back)

Lol, this is car made by Nissan principal using the cost arbitrage, the cheap labor, the land given to establish the car plant at lowest price, to escape the tariffs, the OEM's are all foreign companies, so how this is an Indian car.

All the exports invoices and inventories goes to Nissan Japan, nothing Indian about it. How this can be called as exports from India....India gets maybe some rebates and yes jobs, 95% of the profit goes to Nissan here and they show it as their exports...not as Indian exports.

Nissan should be banned in india. worst quality .. Review on Nissan Sunny XV Diesel assembledin India.

This complaint is regarding unhealthy business practices followed by marikkar automobiles and NiSSAN INDIA.

My self Alosius from Sakthikulangara, Kollam . I am a business man. Worked many years abroad and I used many costly vehicles. During 2012 I planned to buy a Sedan type car for my family trips. I have other vehicles for my business purposes. I checked many vehicles. My abroad life had created a strong brand loyalty towards Toyota and Nissan because of durability and reasonable service cost.

I came to know about Nissan Sunny is available in Indian market and requested for a test drive. Nissan don’t have sale or service outlet at kollam. But Marikkar Sales executives Operated my enquiry from traivandrum . They came to kollam with a brand new car for test drive. It was a Brand new car seats are covered with plastic foils. Me and my three friends took test drive on that car. We faced clutch jerking issues during test drive. Executive claimed that don’t worry about the clutch, this is brand new vehicle did not completed EVEN the PDI. Odometer was disconnected. I questioned regarding the ethics of giving a brand new car for test drive and selling to customer an used car. Executive convinced me that this car came as demo car it is not for customer

WHO says India ranks among the world's worst for its polluted air. Out of the 20 most polluted cities in the world, 13 are in India

This shocker has come when the Auto Fuel Policy committee is all set to announce its recommendations for the emissions standards roadmap for vehicles and fuels

The government must respond to the public health crisis and give an effectively stringent roadmap to cut toxic risk from the burgeoning vehicle numbers

New Delhi, May 8, 2014: The latest urban air quality database released by the World Health Organization (WHO) reconfirms that most Indian cities are becoming death traps because of very high air pollution levels. India appears among the group of countries with highest particulate matter (PM) levels. Also, its cities have the highest levels of PM10 and PM2.5 (particles with diameter of 10 microns and 2.5 microns) when compared to other cities.

Quality and Indian are two different things....everything about India is of poor quality even the air they breathe...too bad.

India’s Air the World’s Unhealthiest, Study Says

India has the worst air pollution in the entire world, beating China, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh, according to a study released during this year’s World Economic Forum in Davos.

Of 132 countries whose environments were surveyed, India ranks dead last in the ‘Air (effects on human health)’ ranking. The annual study, the Environmental Performance Index, is conducted and written by environmental research centers at Yale and Columbia universities with assistance from dozens of outside scientists. The study uses satellite data to measure air pollution concentrations.

Your so called cars still use foriegn engines, gearbox, drive terrains etc...

Even this "xuv 500" is an under powered vehicle with a tiny 2.2 engine from AVL Austria.

Reason why these sell in india is due to 2 factors:

You had a rather closed marked till 90s... meaning no foriegn car brands n no choices.
Foriegn vehicles are still much more expensive than indian vehicles...

For example a toyota altis sells for:

19 - 23Lakh = (aroungd 39? lakh Pakistani Rupee)

https://auto.ndtv.com/toyota-cars/corolla-altis/18-vl-at

while xuv 500 sells brand new for:

W5

  • 2179 cc
  • Manual
  • Diesel
Rs. 12.39 lakh View June Offers View On Road Price

W7

  • 2179 cc
  • Manual
  • Diesel
Rs. 13.65 lakh View June Offers View On Road Price

W7 AT

  • 2179 cc
  • Automatic
  • Diesel
Rs. 14.85 lakh View June Offers View On Road Price

W9

  • 2179 cc
  • Manual
  • Diesel
Rs. 15.30 lakh

A Japanese 1.8 sedan is twice as expensive than an indian "suv".

The same car would sell in Pak for: 2.2+ million rs... with more features.

...here you go, why do they choose India to make the worst of the worst quality products...to sell them to poor Indians, I feel bad about all this.

Fiat Makes The Worst Cars In India

Fiat sold 602 units last month which is horrible to say the least. Even Audi and Mercedes-Benz sell more cars in a month than this Italian company. What is the reason? Bad products of course. Just look at the ergonomics of the Punto, the mileage of the Linea, the body roll of the Avventura and the gearbox of the Abarth Punto. They have just degraded the Abarth brand by launching half hearted Abarth cars in India.

It is not only the foreign car makers, even Indian car makers like the Tata's and the Mahindra's are taking Indians for a ride and producing the worst quality cars ever made anywhere in the world...what is the reason for it, yes there is poverty.

Indian cars Indica and Indigo ‘WORST PERFORMERS’

Indian passenger cars were named as the worst performer among 23 same category vehicles running on South African roads in a study conducted by JD Power and Associates. Tata cars were ranked at the bottom of a list of 23 passenger vehicle brands in South Africa. The vehicles were compared on the basis of initial quality feedback given by customers.
