China's hypersonic railgun means victory in a Taiwan war

We will never take Taiwan by force.

Actually I will disagree.

China took back Huangyan shoal by the use of "military force", but without firing a single bullet.

IMO, the best way to deal with Taiwan is thru the same "gun barrel diplomacy"... But again without firing a single bullet.

My friends,

Taiwan is not the issue anymore. Even the noisy troublemakers in Taiwan know it.

PRC would never like to hurt her own people anywhere... economically Taiwan is already reunited with the Motherland... only thing missing is the official/political unification a la HK.

The best application for this weapon system is in the South Tibet region.

Otherwise, Indians will keep seeing the Chinese forebearance/tolerance as weakness. South Tibet needs to be reunited at all costs.

Also, SCS is the a great place to keep troublemakers at bay with this weapon system.

Qin brought Harmony under the Heavens...but that came from strength.

China CANNOT be divided ever again... the future of her friends, allies and entire Asia depends on the Comprehensive Strength of China.

Yet Patience is a Virtue!

The electric cannon delivers shells over 200 miles at Mach 5 | New Atlas (February 18, 2009)
"With [railgun] shells travelling at Mach 5 on impact, and accurate to within five metres at a 200 mile range...."

Taiwan is located only 100 miles from mainland China's coast.

A Chinese railgun (see picture below) can cover the entire island of Taiwan.

In a mainland China-Taiwan war scenario, China can destroy every Taiwanese military facility by shooting from mainland railguns.

It looks like China is testing its railgun on a naval ship.

However, we can presume China has already tested the railgun on land.

China has been researching and developing electromagnetic railgun technology for over 30 years ("since the mid-1980s").

The appearance of China's railgun should not be a surprise.

Here’s What We Know About China’s Secretive Electromagnetic Railgun | Task & Purpose (February 2, 2018)

"The Chinese military has been conducting electromagnetic research since the mid-1980s, and as recently as 2015, a Chinese defense firm claimed to have achieved a major breakthrough on applying the technology for close-in weapons systems used for point defense. More recently, state-run media reported in October 2017 that researchers at the PLA Naval University of Engineering (also located in the Hubei province) had developed the 'electromagnetic launch technologies' necessary to develop a combat-ready demonstrator.

The following December, Popular Science reported that chief electromagnetics researcher Rear Adm. Ma Weiming gave a follow-up presentation on several recent breakthroughs that 'were key to building an operational railgun,' namely the high-durability barrel and the pulsed-power system required to achieve multi-shot salvos from the devastating weapon."

China's Xi says political solution for Taiwan can't wait forever | Reuters (October 6, 2013)

"NUSA DUA, Indonesia (Reuters) - Chinese President Xi Jinping told a senior envoy from self-ruled Taiwan on Sunday that a political solution to a standoff over sovereignty lasting more than six decades cannot be postponed forever...."

The "Big Man" has a "different level" - he is upping the ante....he is doing his job very well and will continue to do so................however, the overall philosophy remains unchanged.

Actually I will disagree.
