China's newly-built FAST radio telescope is the world's largest at 500 meters across. It is the world's most sensitive radio telescope. According to the article below, China's FAST radio telescope will be made "available to astronomers all over the globe."

Scientific advancements in China are not for the benefit of Chinese scientists only.

As the Chinese FAST radio telescope illustrates, China's scientific advancements are for the benefit of all scientists worldwide.

"FAST is just one more example of the nation’s rapid progress in space technology. While it still has a few more tests to conduct to fine tune its processes, it won’t be long before the facility is available to astronomers all over the globe." (See second-to-last paragraph in citation below)

That's yet another stark difference China hss over the West, which has constructed mechanisms to maintain scientific superiority and hold back others from developing.

Granted, there would still be some institutional constraints and scientific considerations, but, overall, China is more willing to promote prosperity.

Geopolitics is the essence of international life, but, I see China is better able to separate competition from cooperation, where possible.

And yes, India is also covered by China's cooperative umbrella, hence, we are both at the AIIB and the SCO.

We have joint movie productions and other cultural activities. As much as possible, China is not to be arrested by competition between its peers.

While the US explicitly bans all Chinese from corperating with NASA (US law) under discriminatory racist assumption that the 'Chinese cannot be trusted'--here we have China who welcomes all nations to participate in its high tech projects.

The US must be smiling, look at how we can ban the Chinese and exclude them and they wont even do anything about it, hell they even invite us to partipate in their high tech programs!

In your dream maybe everyone knows US is not prefered !!!
BTW,how does you feel to be a pet dog for your USA master?

I am saying China is too soft and not assertive enough in this regard. Trust me, it definitely makes my blood boil when it seems like China doesn't stand up for itself or speak up for itself for things like this; and not even bother calling out the US for their racist discriminatory law.

I think China does respond by simply defying all odds and doing it.

Doing is the best type of in-your-face response.

So, when they blocked Intel chips, China comes up with its own brad of processors for its record holding supercomputer.

In the long run, this "active response" hurts the enemy more than a rush attempt to punish it. In this case, inviting them (if this is the case) is also a type of insult and degrading, only if they are able to perceive the subtlety.

Radio telescope array to build surrounding FAST for resolution enhancement

Source: Xinhua| 2018-03-10 13:50:11|Editor: Liangyu

GUIYANG, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Chinese scientists are considering setting up smaller radio telescopes surrounding FAST to increase array resolution, authorities said.

According to the FAST observation station with the National Astronomical Observatories, two to 10 radio telescopes measuring 30 meters in diameter may be set up around FAST, the world's largest single-dish radio telescope.

The resolution of the array will be around 100 times greater than currently.

FAST will have a more advanced radio receiver as early as end of April.

Located in a natural, deep round karst depression in Guizhou, southwest China, FAST, or Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope, is believed to be the world's most sensitive radio telescope.

Its tasks include observation of pulsars, exploration of interstellar molecules and monitoring interstellar communication signals.
