China's Chang'e-4 probe soft-lands on moon's far side - Xinhua

Obviously, once the United States returns to the moon again, the next thing is: The US government announced that 1 million square kilometers around the lunar base are the inherent territory of the United States, and any intruder will be regarded as a violation of the United States.

I now doubt whether the United States still has manned space capabilities. American astronauts must rely on Russian spacecraft to enter the space station.

Chang'e 3 Lander and jade Rabbit Yutu Rover

That is achieved by Soviet with luna9 3feb 1966.First soft landing on moon!
But again Congratulation on your achievement:china:
And Soviet Union is dead for 28 years!

Where is Soviet Union?,Well,,ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..................

yeah looks like the plate in my house

Today, Russia cannot even repair its own aircraft carrier.

For the time being, China has the most powerful manned spaceflight capability, and the Americans have no carrier spacecraft. Russia has no money to do meaningful manned space activities because of economic difficulties.

Read this to see the difference.

China's Chang'e 4 makes historic first landing on the moon's far side. Going where no spacecraft has gone before, Chang'e 4 successfully lands on the mysterious far side of the moon.

Amazing.

"According to Andrew Jones, a journalist reporting on the Chinese space program, Chang'e 4's descent required "laser ranging and optical cameras for navigation, velocity and coarse hazard avoidance." Practically, this meant Chang'e 4 was on its own as it descended to the surface with its important scientific payload, on a side of the moon marked by rugged terrain.

China's Chang'e-4 probe successfully landed on far side of the moon at 10:26 a.m. BJT Thursday. This is the first ever soft-landing on this uncharted area.

The probe also sent the world's first close shot of the moon's far side through the Queqiao (Magpie Bridge) relay satellite, which is operating in the halo orbit around the second Lagrangian (L2) point of the earth-moon system.

The Chang'e-4 – which includes a lander and a rover – is now expected to study the mineral composition and shallow lunar surface structure of the moon's far side, as well as perform low-frequency radio astronomical observation.

It will be a key step in revealing the mysterious side of the moon which never faces the Earth.

The Chang'e-4 probe blasted off nearly a month ago, on December 8, 2018, from southwest China's Xichang Satellite Launch Center.

Well, it was amazing what they achieved back then. But comparing the new digital electronics to their spacecraft is really unfair. Chang'e-4 had the latest technology, the Soviets did it with analog electronics, it was much harder back then. Anyhow, the US does not have manned space capabilities anymore, the Russians are ill funded and Soyuz is not exactly reliable due to that. Only China has any credible human spaceflight capability left today.

lol are you for real?you need to read the new again.
Again Congratulations:china:
Don't be that kind of fool people that still don't believe that there is no landing on moon ever and whole world laugh on them!

Yes its unfair they achieved that feat by using analogue devices and old computer is success is far great..All the other missions are conducted on using there principles observation and laws!
